Inbar Lavi (Hebrew: ענבר לביא, born October 27, 1986) is an actress from Israel. She is well-known for her roles in popular TV shows. These include playing Raviva in the 2012 MTV series Underemployed, Vee in the 2014 Fox show Gang Related, and Sheba in the Fox series Prison Break. Lavi also starred in the 2017–2018 Bravo TV series Imposters. Later, she played Eve in the last three seasons of the Netflix series Lucifer. She also had a role in The Last Ship on TNT.
Early life and childhood
Inbar Lavi was born and grew up in Ramat Gan, Israel. Her family is Jewish. Her mother's family came from Morocco, and her father's family was from Poland. When she was a child, Inbar had asthma. She had to use a special machine called a nebulizer for about 45 minutes at a time. During these times, she would watch movies and "fell in love with cinema."
Some of her early inspirations were other actresses. She admired Natalie Portman's acting in the movie Léon: The Professional. Another actress she looked up to was Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer. Inbar studied ballet and modern dance at a high school in Holon, Israel. She then went on to study acting at the Sophie Moskowitz School of Acting in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Becoming an actress
In 2004, when Inbar was 17, she moved to New York City. There, she performed in several plays that were not on Broadway. After eight months, she moved to Los Angeles. She was accepted into the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute with a full scholarship. One of her first roles in English was playing Cordelia in a 2006 play called King Lear.
Starting in 2009, Lavi began appearing as a guest star on many TV shows. Some of these included Entourage, The Closer, Ghost Whisperer, Criminal Minds, CSI: Miami, and In Plain Sight. She also acted in movies like Tales of an Ancient Empire (2010) and Street Kings 2: Motor City (2011).
In 2012, Lavi got a main role in the MTV TV series Underemployed. She played Raviva, a singer who was expecting a baby. In 2014, she played Veronica "Vee" Dotsen in the Fox TV series Gang Related.
In 2015, Lavi was chosen for the main role in the Bravo TV series Imposters. In this show, she played Maddie, a clever con artist who was good at pretending to be different people. The series started in February 2017. Also in 2015, she had a recurring role as Lt. Ravit Bivas, a skilled Israeli soldier, in the second season of the TNT naval drama The Last Ship.
In 2016, Lavi joined the TV show Prison Break for its new season. She played Sheba, an activist from Yemen. Later, she joined the cast of Lucifer for its fourth season. In this show, she played Eve, who is known as the first woman. In 2023, Inbar also joined the fourth season of the Israeli TV show "Fauda" as Shani Russo.
Personal life
In August 2021, Inbar Lavi married her longtime boyfriend, Dan Bar Shira, in Israel. They now live in Los Angeles.
