The Indus Plain is a large, flat area of land in Pakistan. It was formed over many, many years by sediment (tiny bits of rock and soil) carried by the Indus River and its smaller rivers. Most of this plain is found in the Punjab province. It's a very important area for farming.

What is the Indus Plain?
The Indus Plain is the western part of Pakistan's Northern Plain. It was created by the mighty Indus River and all the rivers that flow into it. These rivers bring rich soil from the mountains, making the land very fertile. This makes it perfect for growing crops.
Where is the Indus Plain located?
The Indus Plain stretches across much of Pakistan. A high part of the plain, called the Pothohar Plateau, is found near the foothills of the Himalayas. This area includes places like the Margalla Hills.
What crops grow on the Indus Plain?
Farmers on the Indus Plain grow many important crops. These include wheat, rice, sugarcane, and Cotton. The fertile soil and river water help these crops grow well.
Deserts of the Indus Plain
Even though the plain is fertile, some deserts are also found within or near it. These include the Thal desert, the Indus Valley desert, the Thar Desert, and the Cholistan desert. These areas are much drier than the rest of the plain.
