A Glimpse into the Past
In the 1960s, something really cool was discovered in Ingleside: mammoth bones! These ancient bones are now on display at the Lakes Region Historical Society Museum in Antioch.
The Long Lake Dam is an important structure here. It was first built in 1930 and has been updated several times, including a big modernization project in 2008. The dam helps control the water flow from Long Lake into Fox Lake. It also allows pleasure boats to travel from Long Lake to the wider Chain O'Lakes system.
