The International Music Score Library Project (IMSLP) is a huge online library. It is also known as the Petrucci Music Library. This name comes from Ottaviano Petrucci, a famous music publisher from a long time ago. IMSLP is like a giant collection of free music scores that anyone can use. It is built like a wiki, which means many people can help add to it.

How IMSLP Works
IMSLP is owned by a company called Project Petrucci LLC. This company makes sure the website runs smoothly. They have a physical address in the United States. This shows that it is a real organization. The website started on February 16, 2006. It has grown a lot since then.
What You Can Find
IMSLP has thousands of music scores. These are pieces of music that are old enough to be in the public domain. This means they are free for everyone to use and share. You can find music from many different composers. You can also find music for different instruments. It is a great place for musicians and students.
How to Use IMSLP
You do not need to sign up to use IMSLP. You can just visit the website and start looking for music. If you want to help add music or make changes, you can create an account. This makes it easy for people to share their love of music.
Other Music Libraries
IMSLP is not the only online music library. There are other projects that are similar. They also help people find music online.
- Choral Public Domain Library: This library focuses on music for choirs and singers.
- Musopen: This project has many recordings of music. It also has some sheet music.
- Mutopia Project: This library focuses on music scores that are carefully typed out.
- Werner Icking Music Archive: This archive mainly had very old music. It has now joined with IMSLP.

The blue letter featured in Petrucci Music Library logo, used in 2007–2015, was based on the first printed book of music, the Harmonice Musices Odhecaton, published by Ottaviano Petrucci in 1501.
