Invasion America is an exciting American animated science fiction TV show from 1998. It was shown during prime time on The WB network. This series was made by DreamWorks Television Animation, which was part of DreamWorks at the time.

The show was created by famous filmmakers Steven Spielberg and Harve Bennett. They also helped produce the series. The main idea of the show is about aliens from a planet called Tyrus trying to take over Earth.

The Story of Invasion America

The adventure of Invasion America starts in the early 1980s. This is when aliens from the planet Tyrus begin to make plans to connect with Earth.

A Royal Family Divided

Cale-Oosha, who is the ruler of Tyrus, looks into a project involving Earth. But his uncle, The Dragit, believes their home planet is dying. He wants to invade Earth and take its valuable resources. Cale disagrees with this idea, which causes a civil war to break out on Tyrus.

To escape the war, Cale and his loyal bodyguard, Rafe, flee to Earth. They pretend to be humans to blend in. Cale meets a human woman named Rita Carter, falls in love, and they get married.

David's Unexpected Destiny

After a long time of hiding from The Dragit's forces on Earth, Cale decides to return to Tyrus. He goes back to help his loyal followers, known as the Ooshati, in their fight. He leaves Rita and their young son, David, safe with Rafe.

In the present day, The Dragit finally finds David's family. He is determined to get rid of them. This throws David Carter, a regular teenager, into a huge adventure. He must stop The Dragit, make new friends, and discover his true identity.

Main Characters

Here are some of the important characters you'll meet in Invasion America:

  • David Carter (Oosha) (voiced by Mikey Kelley)
    • David is the main character and a teenage boy. He is half-human and half-Tyrusian. He is also the future ruler of Tyrus.
    • One night, David loses his home, his mother, and everything he owns. He also learns the shocking truth about who he really is.
    • Because he has royal blood, David can use special Tyrusian powers. It's hard for him to control them on his own. He needs a special glove called the Exotar to help make his powers stronger.
  • Rafe (voiced by Edward Albert)
    • Rafe is like an uncle to David. He pretends to be a county sheriff in a town called Glenport.
    • In reality, Rafe is a commander in the Ooshati forces. Cale, his friend and king, asked Rafe to protect David and his mother.
    • Rafe helps David escape from enemies. He later leads an attack on The Dragit's base on Earth. Sadly, Rafe gets badly hurt and dies. Before he passes away, he encourages David and tells him to continue the fight to save the world.
  • Rita Carter (Ooshala) (voiced by Kath Soucie)
    • Rita is David's human mother. She is a kind woman who saved Cale's life and later married him.
    • When strange men called Tall Men attack her house, Rita bravely holds them off with a gun. She tells David to escape.
    • A special orb that Cale gave her years ago suddenly lights up. The house then explodes, and Rita and the Tall Men disappear. Her fate is not known for sure.
  • Cale-Oosha (voiced by Lorenzo Lamas)
    • Cale is David's Tyrusian father and the true king of Tyrus.
    • After years of being on the run, he leaves his family with Rafe. He goes back to Tyrus to help his loyal Ooshati forces fight against The Dragit.
  • The Dragit (voiced by Tony Jay)
    • The Dragit is the main bad guy in the story. He is David's great-uncle.
    • He controls most of the Tyrusian army. He is a powerful speaker and a dictator. His forces seem much bigger and more advanced than the Ooshati.
    • Throughout the story, The Dragit tries to brainwash David to join his side. If that doesn't work, he tries to have David killed.
  • Major Philip 'Phil' Stark (voiced by Greg Eagles)
    • Stark is an intelligence officer and a pilot. He cares about David's safety and often goes against orders to help him.
    • He started investigating after finding a strange skeleton with Rafe's fingerprints. Stark was also friends with the President of the United States when they were in school.
  • Sergeant Angela "Angie" Romar (voiced by Kristy McNichol)
    • Angie is Stark's partner and friend. She is proud of her heritage and is a brave young woman.
    • She often gives Stark ideas and advice. At one point, she and Stark hide David in her apartment to keep him safe.
  • Jim Bailey (voiced by Rider Strong)
    • Jim is David's best friend. He supports David through many difficult times.
    • He even goes with David into outer space on the final mission of the story.
  • Doc (voiced by Ronny Cox)
    • Doc is a Tyrusian who used to work at an Air Force Base. He left his post when he heard about The Dragit's plan to kill Cale.
    • He now lives as an old man in the Utah desert. At first, he doesn't want to get involved in the war. But after seeing David's spirit, he changes his mind. He helps by getting information from The Dragit's network, which is very useful for the final mission.
  • Blue
    • Blue is Doc's pet Mangler. Manglers are creatures from Tyrus.
    • Blue also survived the attack on Cale-Oosha. Doc tamed Blue, who loves steaks. Blue is very loyal to Doc and will protect him.
  • General Konrad (voiced by Leonard Nimoy)
    • General Konrad is the first main bad guy at the start of the show. He is a Tyrusian who became an Air Force general.
    • He leads The Dragit's agents on Earth. Konrad seems heartless and even uses Manglers against his own men to try and kill Ooshati warriors.
    • After a base is destroyed, he tries to kill David and Rafe. But David turns the situation around, and Konrad dies in a plane crash.
  • Simon Lear (voiced by Thom Adcox-Hernandez)
    • Simon is a human/Tyrusian hybrid, just like David. He and his sister are bounty hunters who work for General Gordon. They try to capture David.
    • He has a hissing voice and a bad temper. He often kills without thinking.
    • After losing a fight to David, Simon takes Jim hostage. He threatens to kill Jim, which makes David agree to go with Simon and Sonia. Simon then tries to use the Exotar to make his Tyrusian powers stronger, but the Exotar hurts his hand, just as Rafe warned would happen if someone other than the rightful heir tried to wear it.
  • Sonia Lear (voiced by Kath Soucie)
    • Sonia is Simon's twin sister. She is also a human/Tyrusian hybrid and a bounty hunter trying to capture David.
    • She can control Simon through a special Tyrusian psychic connection. Without him, she loses her courage and violent nature.
    • Later, Sonia starts helping David and his friends. She leads her brother away when he tries to contact her to find David. It is hinted that she might have romantic feelings for David.
