Isaac Bradley Humphries (born 5 January 1998) is an Australian professional basketball player. He plays for the Adelaide 36ers in Australia's top league, the NBL. Before becoming a professional, he played college basketball in the United States for the Kentucky Wildcats.
Isaac started his professional career with the Sydney Kings in 2017. He later played in the NBA G League and even made his NBA debut with the Atlanta Hawks in 2019. In 2020, he joined the Adelaide 36ers. After one season with Melbourne United, he returned to the 36ers in 2023. Isaac is known for being very tall, standing at 7 feet (211 cm). He is also a talented singer and performer.

Early Life and Basketball Beginnings
Isaac Bradley Humphries was born on 5 January 1998 in Sydney, Australia. He grew up in Cronulla, a beachside area. From a young age, Isaac was interested in music. He started playing the violin at four, the trumpet at five, and later the piano. He was also a skilled singer and performed on stages in Sydney before he began playing basketball.
Isaac started playing basketball when he was 12 years old. In 2010, he lived in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, for six months. He attended Scots College in Sydney. By the time he was 16, he had grown to 7 feet tall. He was very thankful for the support he received from his school.
In 2014, Isaac moved to Canberra to join the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). There, he played for the BA Centre of Excellence in the South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL). He played nine games, averaging 7.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. During his time at the AIS, he also played for Australia's national under-17s team in games around the world.
College Basketball Journey
In December 2014, Isaac moved to the United States to play prep basketball at La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana. After that, he went to the University of Kentucky. He played for the Wildcats for two seasons.
During his first year (2015–16), he played in 23 games. He averaged 1.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in about 9 minutes per game. In his second year (2016–17), he played in 38 games. He averaged 2.8 points and 2.8 rebounds in about 8 minutes per game. In his final college game, he scored a career-high 12 points. This was during Kentucky's close loss to the North Carolina Tar Heels. He was also named to the NCAA All-Regional tournament team.
In April 2017, Isaac decided to enter the NBA draft. This meant he would not play his last two years of college basketball.
Professional Basketball Career
After entering the NBA draft, Isaac worked out with several NBA teams. However, he was not chosen in the 2017 NBA draft. He then returned to Australia.
Playing for the Sydney Kings (2017–2018)
On 27 July 2017, Isaac signed with his hometown team, the Sydney Kings, for the 2017–18 NBL season. He played 26 games, starting in six of them. He averaged 6.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game. He shot 58 percent from the field. Because of his great performance, he was named the NBL Rookie of the Year.
Time in Europe and the NBA G League (2018–2019)
In February 2018, Isaac signed a deal with FMP in Serbia. Later, in October 2018, he signed a training camp deal with the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA. He was then assigned to their G League team, the Erie BayHawks. For the 2018–19 NBA G League season, he averaged 11.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
NBA Debut with the Atlanta Hawks (2019)
On 1 April 2019, Isaac Humphries signed with the Atlanta Hawks for the rest of the 2018–19 NBA season. This was his debut in the NBA. After this, he joined the Los Angeles Clippers for the 2019 NBA Summer League.
With the Lakeland Magic (2019–2020)
In September 2019, Isaac signed with the Orlando Magic. He was later assigned to their G League team, the Lakeland Magic. During the 2019–20 season, he averaged 8.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game.
First Stint with the Adelaide 36ers (2020–2022)
On 16 July 2020, Isaac signed a two-year contract to return to the NBL with the Adelaide 36ers. In the 2020–21 season, he had a strong performance. He averaged 13.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, and led the league with 2.8 blocks per game.
He re-signed with the 36ers for the 2021–22 NBL season. However, he only played six games that season. He averaged 7.7 points in about 17 minutes per game before a knee injury ended his season in February 2022.
Playing for Melbourne United (2022–2023)
On 22 July 2022, Isaac signed with Melbourne United for the 2022–23 NBL season.
Return to Adelaide (2023–Present)
On 26 April 2023, Isaac Humphries signed with the Adelaide 36ers again for the 2023–24 NBL season. This was his second time playing for the team. He had one of his best seasons, playing in all 28 games. He averaged 15.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game. He was named the 36ers Club MVP for his excellent play.
On 7 March 2024, Isaac signed a new three-year deal to stay with the 36ers.
National Team Achievements
Isaac Humphries first played for Australia's junior national team in 2013. In 2014, he helped Australia win a silver medal at the FIBA Under-17 World Championship. In that tournament, he averaged 18.9 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 3.3 blocks per game. He was also named to the All-Tournament Team.
He made his debut for the senior Australian national team in a qualifying match for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup. He had a great game, scoring 17 points and grabbing 7 rebounds.
Music Career and Performances
While playing basketball in the United States, Isaac sometimes sang the American national anthem before games. He also performed at charity events. After focusing on basketball for several years, he started his music career again. He also began learning new instruments that he could play easily anywhere.
As of 2024, Isaac continues to balance both his basketball and music careers. He performs, writes, and releases his own music. In 2024, he was an ambassador for the Adelaide Fringe festival. He also performed a show called Unearthed. This show was about sharing personal stories and songs that helped him discover who he is. The show included his own songs and cover versions, sung in his tenor voice. All the tickets for his show sold out.
For the 2025 Adelaide Fringe, Isaac Humphries is performing a new show called More of Me.
