Isaiah Firebrace (born 21 November 1999) is an Australian singer. He became famous after winning The X Factor Australia in 2016. The next year, he sang for Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with his song "Don't Come Easy". He finished in ninth place in the competition.

Early Life and First Steps in Music

Isaiah Firebrace grew up in Moama, New South Wales, Australia. He is one of twelve children in his family. Isaiah is an Aboriginal Australian, with his father being Yorta Yorta and his mother Gunditjmara.

He first started getting noticed when he joined the Fast Track Singing Competition in Melbourne. This led him to get a special scholarship. He was able to study singing at the David Jaanz School of Singing.

Career Highlights

Winning The X Factor

In 2016, Isaiah auditioned for the eighth season of The X Factor Australia. He sang "Hello" by Adele. He made it through to the next stage, called Bootcamp. There, he performed "If I Ain't Got You" by Alicia Keys. Isaiah kept doing well and reached the Grand Final.

On 21 November 2016, Isaiah won The X Factor. In the Grand Final, he sang "Wake Me Up" with Jessica Mauboy. He also performed his winner's song, "It's Gotta Be You". This song became very popular, reaching number 26 on the Australian music charts. It also charted in other countries like New Zealand and Sweden.

A short time later, on 9 December 2016, Isaiah released his first album. It was simply called Isaiah. The album reached number 12 on the Australian Albums Chart.

Representing Australia at Eurovision

After winning The X Factor, Isaiah wanted to represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest. On 7 March 2017, it was announced that he would sing for Australia. He performed the song "Don't Come Easy" at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine.

On 9 May 2017, he did well in the first semi-final and made it to the Grand Final. In the final on 13 May, he finished in 9th place. This was a great achievement for him and for Australia.

Music and Other Projects

Throughout 2019, Isaiah went on a big tour called 'Spirit and Beyond'. He visited 55 places across central and regional Australia. During this tour, he made sure to talk with many Aboriginal school children. He shared important messages about working hard to reach your goals. He also talked about how important it is to find something you love to do.

In July 2020, Isaiah released a new song called "Know Me Better". He said this song was special to him because he felt like he was truly finding himself. He was also working on a children's book at the time. The book, called "The Purple Platypus", teaches kids that it's okay to be different.

In August 2020, Isaiah appeared on the TV show The Masked Singer Australia. He was the "Wizard" and was the sixth person to be unmasked.

In 2022, Isaiah tried again to represent Australia at Eurovision. He joined the competition Eurovision - Australia Decides. He sang "When I'm With You" with singer Evie Irie. They finished in 10th place.

In September 2022, Isaiah released "Come Together". He sang this song with Lee Kernaghan and Mitch Tambo. This song was released at the same time as his new children's book, also called Come Together. The book was published on 16 November 2022. It was illustrated by Jaelyn Biumaiwai and was even nominated for an award in 2023.

In November 2022, Isaiah released a Christmas song he wrote himself, called "First Christmas".
