Ivano Bordon is a famous Italian former footballer. He was born on April 13, 1951. Ivano played as a goalkeeper. Many people thought he was one of the best goalkeepers in Italy during his career.
He played for several Italian clubs and had a very successful time. On the international stage, he was often a backup goalkeeper for the Italian national team. He was part of the team that won the 1982 FIFA World Cup. He also played in the 1978 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 1980.

Playing for Clubs: Ivano Bordon's Career
Ivano Bordon was born in Marghera, a town near Venice, Italy. In 1966, he joined the youth team of Inter Milan. Four years later, in 1970, he started playing for their main team.
He spent most of his playing career with Inter Milan, from 1970 to 1983. He played in 388 games for the club. At first, he was a backup goalkeeper. But soon, he became the main goalkeeper for the team.
- He helped Inter Milan win two Serie A titles in 1971 and 1980.
- He also won two Coppa Italia titles with the club.
- In 1972, he played in the 1972 European Cup final with Inter. They lost to Ajax, a famous Dutch team.
- During the 1979–80 season, he set a club record. He did not let any goals in for 686 minutes in Serie A games. This is a very long time!
After leaving Inter Milan, he played for Sampdoria from 1983 to 1986. With Sampdoria, he won another Coppa Italia in 1985. He also played for Sanremese in 1987. His last club was Brescia, where he played from 1987 to 1989 before he retired.
Playing for Italy: International Matches
Ivano Bordon played 21 games for the Italian national team. He played for Italy between 1978 and 1984. He was part of the Italian squad for three big tournaments. He was usually the backup goalkeeper to the legendary Dino Zoff.
- He was with Italy at the 1978 FIFA World Cup. Italy reached the semi-finals and finished in fourth place.

Coaching Goalkeepers: Managerial Career
After he stopped playing football, Ivano Bordon started coaching goalkeepers. He first coached at smaller clubs like Solbiatese and Udinese.
In 1994, he began working closely with manager Marcello Lippi. Lippi asked Bordon to help improve the goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi at Juventus. Bordon stayed with Lippi at Juventus until 1999. During this time, Juventus won many important trophies. These included five Serie A titles and one UEFA Champions League.
In 1999, Bordon followed Lippi to Inter Milan. He worked there for two years. Even when Lippi left Inter, Bordon continued his coaching career. Later, Bordon worked with Lippi again, first back at Juventus. Then, they both joined the Italian national team. This team went on to win the 2006 FIFA World Cup, which was another amazing success for Bordon as a coach!

Ivano Bordon was considered one of the best Italian goalkeepers of his time. He was known for being very calm and focused. He was also good at positioning himself and reacting quickly to shots. His quickness earned him the nickname Pallottolla, which means "Bullet" in Italian.
