Where is Iverson Located?
Iverson is situated in a convenient spot in Minnesota. It lies between two other towns, Carlton and Cromwell. You can find it right along State Highway 210. This highway is also close to Interstate 35, a major road that connects many parts of the state.
The community is about five miles west-southwest of Cloquet. Cloquet is a larger city nearby. A well-known place close to Iverson is the Black Bear Casino Resort.
A Glimpse into Iverson's History
Iverson has a short but interesting history. The community was named after an early settler in the area, a person named Ole Iverson. It was common for new settlements to be named after important people who helped start them.
A post office was opened in Iverson in 1909. This meant people living there could send and receive mail more easily. The post office served the community for several years. However, it eventually closed down in 1927.
