Jéssica Bouzas Maneiro (born 24 September 2002) is a professional tennis player from Spain. She is known for her powerful right-handed play. Jéssica has achieved a high ranking of world No. 54 in singles. This was set by the WTA on 9 December 2024. She is currently the second-highest ranked Spanish female tennis player.
Jéssica has won one major singles title on the WTA Challenger Tour. She has also earned eleven singles titles and four doubles titles on the ITF Circuit.

Becoming a Tennis Star
Early Life and Training
Jéssica Bouzas Maneiro was born in Vilagarcía de Arousa, a town in Spain. Her parents are Juan Jesús and Gloria. She started playing tennis at just five years old. Her first tennis club was the Club de Tenis O Rial in her hometown.
When she was 13, Jéssica moved to Alicante. There, she trained at the famous Ferrer Tennis Academy. In 2022, she moved again to Madrid. She began training with Javier Martí, a well-known coach. In September 2023, she hired Roberto Ortega Olmedo as her coach.
Starting Her Professional Journey (2020–2021)
Jéssica began her professional career in December 2020. She reached her first singles final at a tournament in Madrid. The next month, in January 2021, she won her very first singles title in Cairo. She continued to play well, reaching more finals and winning another title in Greece in June 2021.
Making a Mark (2022–2023)
In February 2022, Jéssica won another title in Spain. A month later, she won her second title of the year. In June, she achieved great success at the 2022 Mediterranean Games. She won a bronze medal in singles and a gold medal in doubles. This was a big achievement for her and for Spain.
In 2023, Jéssica played for Spain in the 2023 United Cup. She won her first match in this team event. She also made her first appearance in a major tournament, the 2023 Wimbledon Championships. This was a huge step in her career.
Big Wins and Milestones (2024)
The year 2024 was a fantastic one for Jéssica.
- In March, she won her first ever WTA 125 title at the 2024 Antalya Challenger. This was a significant win.
- The next month, she reached the final of the 2024 Zaragoza Open.

At Wimbledon, Jéssica reached the third round of a major tournament for the first time. She surprised everyone by beating the defending champion, Markéta Vondroušová. This was her first win against a top 10 player. Her victory was historic, as it was the first time since 1994 that a defending Wimbledon women's champion was knocked out in the first round. She had to stop playing in her third-round match due to a back injury.
She also played at the 2024 Cincinnati Open. Later, at the US Open, she reached the third round again. She had impressive wins against Petra Martić and Katie Boulter before her run ended against Jessica Pegula.
