Her Early Life and Training

Jéssica Bouzas Maneiro was born in Vilagarcía de Arousa, Spain. Her parents are Juan Jesús and Gloria. She started playing tennis when she was just five years old. She learned the game at the Club de Tenis O Rial in her hometown.

When she was 13, Jéssica moved to Alicante. There, she trained at the famous Ferrero Tennis Academy. In 2022, she moved again, this time to Madrid. She trained under Javier Martí, who used to coach another well-known player, Paula Badosa. In September 2023, she chose Roberto Ortega Olmedo to be her new coach.

Her Journey in Tennis

Starting on the ITF Circuit (2020–2021)

Jéssica began her professional tennis journey in December 2020. She reached her first singles final at a tournament in Madrid. The next month, in January 2021, she won her very first singles title in Cairo. She continued to play well, reaching more finals and winning another title in Heraklion in June 2021.

Big Debuts and Medals (2022–2023)

In 2022, Jéssica won two more titles early in the year. In May, she reached another final in Spain. At the end of June, she had a great achievement at the 2022 Mediterranean Games. She won a bronze medal in singles. Even better, she won a gold medal in doubles with her partner, Guiomar Maristany.

In 2023, Jéssica played for Spain in the United Cup. She won her first match in this team competition. She also made her first appearance in a major tournament, which is a very big event in tennis. This happened at the Wimbledon Championships. She successfully made it into the main part of the tournament.

Winning a WTA 125 Title (2024)

March 2024 was a special time for Jéssica. She won her first WTA 125 title at the Antalya Challenger. This was a big step up in her career. The next month, she reached another final at the Zaragoza Open.

On April 15, 2024, Jéssica entered the top 100 players in the world for the first time. She reached a new career-high ranking of world No. 90. She also played in her first WTA 1000 tournament at the Madrid Open. There, she won her first match at this high level.
