J-Mee Samuels (born May 20, 1987) is an American runner. He is known for being a very fast sprinter. He specializes in the 100 meters race. J-Mee has represented the United States in big competitions. These include the 2007 World Championships in Athletics. There, he ran in both the 100 meters and the 4x100 meters relay.

Early Life and High School Success

J-Mee grew up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He went to Mount Tabor High School. There, he became a national star in track and field. He set a new high school record for the 100 meters. He ran it in just 10.08 seconds. This time matched a record set by Olympic gold medalist Justin Gatlin. J-Mee also ran the 200-meter dash very quickly. His time was 20.32 seconds. This was one of the fastest times ever for a U.S. high school athlete.

Because of his amazing speed, J-Mee was recognized nationally. USA Today named him to their All-USA track team in 2005. Track and Field News also honored him. They named him "High School Athlete of the Year" in 2005.

College Career

After high school, J-Mee went to the University of Arkansas. He joined their track and field team, the Arkansas Razorbacks. During his time in college, he continued to excel. He was chosen as an All-American three times. This award recognizes the best college athletes in the country.

Setting New Records

J-Mee kept working hard to improve his running times. In August 2010, he set a new personal best in the 100-meter race. He ran it in an incredible 10.03 seconds. This happened at the Spitzenleichtathletik meet in Nottwil, Switzerland. He finished third in that race. The two runners ahead of him were Nesta Carter and Walter Dix.
