College Football Star

Jacob Green played college football for the Texas A&M Aggies. He was an amazing player during his college years. In 1979, he was chosen as an All-American. This means he was one of the best college players in the country.

Impressive College Records

While at Texas A&M, Green made 134 tackles. He also set a school record with 20 quarterback sacks in one season. A sack happens when a defensive player tackles the opposing team's quarterback behind the line of scrimmage. Green's 37 career sacks are still the second-highest in Texas A&M history. He also holds school records for causing 12 fumbles in his career and six fumbles in one season (1978).

NFL Career Highlights

In 1980, Jacob Green was picked by the Seattle Seahawks in the first round of the 1980 NFL draft. He was the 10th player chosen overall. This was a big achievement for him.

Playing for the Seahawks

Setting Sack Records

Jacob Green recorded 97.5 career sacks for the Seahawks. Sacks became an official NFL statistic in 1982, which was Green's third season. When he retired, he was one of the top three players in NFL history for career sacks.
