Jacqueline Boatswain is a talented English actress. She is also sometimes known as Jacqui Boatswain. Jacqueline was born in Bedford, England, and has family roots in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. She has appeared in many popular TV shows and films, making her a familiar face to many viewers.

Jacqueline Boatswain's Acting Career

Jacqueline Boatswain has had a long and exciting career in acting. She is well-known for playing Mrs. Bassinger, the headmistress, in the BBC school drama Grange Hill. She was on the show from 2003 to 2006. Mrs. Bassinger's first name was never shared, but a sign outside her office showed it started with "S".

Early Roles and Stage Work

Besides Grange Hill, Jacqueline has appeared in other TV shows like Casualty. She also played a police custody sergeant in the BBC daytime drama Doctors. Jacqueline has a lot of experience performing on stage too. In October 2013, she acted in a play called Adult Supervision at the Park Theatre (London).

Jacqueline became a regular cast member on the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks on February 20, 2015. She played the character Simone Loveday. To celebrate Hollyoaks' twentieth anniversary, the show had a special Come Dine with Me week. Jacqueline was one of the cast members who hosted an episode. She left Hollyoaks in late 2018, with her final episode airing on January 23, 2019.

In 2018, she also played Monique in the BBC drama Collateral. In 2020, Jacqueline appeared in the BBC TV series Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators. She was in episode 3.6, playing Odette Dixon. In October 2021, she returned to Doctors as Heather Derby. Most recently, in 2023, she played Babette François, a bar owner and singer, in series 12, episode 8 of Death in Paradise.
