Jahmi'us Ramsey (born June 9, 2001) is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for the Oklahoma City Blue in the NBA G League. Before turning pro, he played college basketball for the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Jahmi'us Ramsey's High School Journey
Jahmi'us started his high school basketball career in his hometown. He played for Mansfield Summit High School in Arlington, Texas during his first two years.
Moving to a Prep School
For his junior year, Ramsey moved to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. This is a special "prep school" that helps young athletes get ready for college and professional sports. Playing there meant he competed against top teams from all over the country. This helped him get noticed by more colleges.
Senior Year Success
For his final high school year, Ramsey went to Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas. He was a star player, scoring about 21 points and grabbing six rebounds per game. He led his team to win the Class 6A state championship.
After his senior year, Ramsey showed off his skills in special games. He scored 15 points at the Jordan Brand Classic. He also shared the most valuable player (MVP) award at the Ballislife All-American Game.
Becoming a Top Recruit
Many colleges wanted Ramsey to play for them. He was considered one of the best young players in the country. On November 28, 2018, he decided to play college basketball for Texas Tech. He became the highest-ranked player ever to commit to their basketball program.
Jahmi'us Ramsey's College Career
Ramsey joined the Texas Tech Red Raiders in 2019. Even before the regular season started, he showed his talent. In a preseason game in The Bahamas, he scored an amazing 44 points and grabbed 12 rebounds!
First Season Highlights
In his first official college game, he scored 19 points. Later, he had a huge game with 27 points and five three-pointers. Because of his great play, he was named the Big 12 newcomer of the week.
Ramsey did get a hamstring injury during the season, which made him miss some games. But he still finished strong. At the end of the season, he was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Year. He also made the Second Team All-Big 12. On average, he scored 15 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and had 2.2 assists per game.
Declaring for the NBA Draft
After just one year in college, Ramsey decided he was ready for the next step. On April 25, 2020, he announced he would enter the 2020 NBA draft. This meant he was making himself available to be picked by an NBA team.
Jahmi'us Ramsey's Professional Career
Starting with the Sacramento Kings (2020–2022)
On November 18, 2020, Jahmi'us Ramsey's dream came true. He was chosen by the Sacramento Kings in the 2020 NBA draft as the 43rd pick. He signed a contract with the Kings in December 2020. He played for them for a couple of seasons before being "waived" (released from his contract) in February 2022.
Journey Through the NBA G League (2022–Present)
After leaving the Kings, Ramsey joined the NBA G League. This league is like a development league for the NBA. He first signed an entry contract and was picked up by the Birmingham Squadron. The very next day, he was traded to the Oklahoma City Blue.
In October 2023, Ramsey briefly signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder (an NBA team), but was waived the same day. He then rejoined the Oklahoma City Blue.
Time with the Toronto Raptors (2024)
In March 2024, Ramsey got a chance to play in the NBA again. He signed a 10-day contract with the Toronto Raptors. He signed a second 10-day contract shortly after. After these contracts ended, he returned to the Oklahoma City Blue.
He re-signed with the Raptors in September 2024 but was waived again in October.
Returning to Oklahoma City (2024–Present)
On October 25, 2024, Ramsey rejoined the Oklahoma City Blue. He continues to play for them in the NBA G League.
