Jamarra Ugle-Hagan (born 4 April 2002) is a professional Australian rules football player. He plays for the Western Bulldogs team in the Australian Football League (AFL).

Jamarra Ugle-Hagan's Early Life and School
Jamarra Ugle-Hagan was born on April 4, 2002. His birthplace was the Framlingham Aboriginal Reserve in south-west Victoria. He comes from an Indigenous Australian family, with roots in the Noongar, Gunditjmara, and Djab Wurrung communities. He also has Irish family background.
He went to Warrnambool College for high school. Later, he moved to Scotch College in Melbourne. He lived there as a boarder starting in year 9.
Jamarra's Football Journey Before the AFL
Before joining the AFL, Jamarra played for local football clubs. He played for East Warrnambool and the South Warrnambool team. After that, he moved on to play for the Oakleigh Chargers. This team is part of the NAB League, which is a competition for young players.
Jamarra Ugle-Hagan's AFL Career
Starting Strong: 2021 and 2022 Seasons
Jamarra was part of the Western Bulldogs' Next Generation Academy. This program helps find and train talented young players. It focuses on Aboriginal and multicultural players. It also helps people who might not usually play Australian rules football.
In the 2020 national draft, Jamarra was chosen as the very first pick. The Western Bulldogs picked him after the Adelaide Crows tried to get him. He was the first player picked by the Bulldogs since Adam Cooney in 2003. He was also only the second Indigenous player ever to be the first pick in the draft.
Jamarra played his first AFL game for the Western Bulldogs on July 11, 2021. This was in Round 17 against the Sydney Swans. In his first game, he had seven disposals and one mark. He didn't kick any goals in that game. However, he stayed in the team for the next game. In Round 18, he kicked three goals against the Gold Coast Suns. This was a great performance. In August 2021, Jamarra signed a contract to stay with the Bulldogs until the end of 2024.
In 2022, Jamarra was nominated for the Rising Star award. This happened after he kicked five goals in a game against Melbourne during Round 19.
Jamarra's Breakout Year: 2023 Season
The 2023 AFL season was a big year for Jamarra. In Round 3, he faced a difficult situation with a supporter. The next week, in a game against the Brisbane Lions, Jamarra kicked five goals. It was a close game with low scores. After one of his goals, he lifted his shirt and pointed to his skin. He was looking at the crowd. This was a way to show pride and strength. It was similar to a famous moment by Nicky Winmar in 1993.
This moment seemed to start a great period of play for Jamarra. He kicked three goals in Round 11 against Gold Coast. In Round 16, he kicked four goals and had 12 disposals against Fremantle. The week after, he kicked 2 goals and had 13 disposals against Collingwood. Jamarra played in every possible game for the Western Bulldogs in 2023. He finished second in the team for most goals kicked, with 67 goals.
Leading Goalkicker: 2024 Season
Jamarra Ugle-Hagan had another strong year in the 2024 AFL season. He played 22 games and kicked 43 goals. This made him the leading goalkicker for the Western Bulldogs team for the season. He had a fantastic run of form from rounds 18 to 20. During these three games, he kicked 12 goals.
