Jamison Crowder (born June 17, 1993) is an American professional football player. He plays as a wide receiver and punt returner for the Washington Commanders. This team is part of the National Football League (NFL).

Before joining the NFL, Jamison played college football for the Duke Blue Devils. The Washington Redskins picked him in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL draft. He has also played for the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills.

Early Life and High School Sports

Jamison Crowder grew up in Monroe, North Carolina. He was a top athlete at Monroe High School. He played three years of football there. His team had a great record of 29 wins and 10 losses. They made it to the state playoffs three times.

As a junior, he caught 26 passes for 618 yards. He scored 19 touchdowns in total. In 2010, he was named first-team All-State. He was also the conference's Offensive Player of the Year.

Jamison also played basketball and ran track & field. He helped his basketball team win the 2010 1A state championship. They had an amazing 32-1 record. He was named Rocky River Conference Player of the Year in basketball.

College Football Career

Jamison played college football at Duke University from 2011 to 2014.

Freshman Year (2011)

As a new player, called a "true freshman," he played in all 12 games. He caught 14 passes for 163 yards and scored one touchdown.

Sophomore Year (2012)

In his second year, Jamison became a starter. He played in all 13 games. He caught 76 passes for 1,074 yards. He also scored eight touchdowns.

Junior Year (2013)

As a junior, he started all 14 games. He set a record for the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) with 108 catches. He gained 1,360 yards and scored eight touchdowns.

Senior Year (2014)

In his final year, he started all 13 games. In his last college game, the 2014 Sun Bowl, he tied the ACC's record for most catches ever with 283. He finished the 2014 season with 85 catches for 1,044 yards and six touchdowns.

Jamison ended his college career with 283 catches for 3,641 yards. He scored 23 touchdowns. He also set a school record by returning five punt returns for touchdowns.

Washington Redskins (2015–2018)

The Washington Redskins picked Jamison in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL draft. He was the 105th player chosen overall. He signed a four-year contract with the team.

2015 Season Highlights

Jamison played his first NFL game on September 13, 2015. In October, he caught eight passes for 87 yards in his first start. On November 15, 2015, he scored his first NFL touchdown. It was an 11-yard catch from quarterback Kirk Cousins.

In January 2016, he caught his second touchdown. He also had five catches for 109 yards. This was his first game with over 100 receiving yards. He broke a team record for most catches by a rookie. The old record was held by Hall of Famer Art Monk. Jamison finished the season with 59 catches for 604 yards and two touchdowns.

2016 Season Highlights

In September 2016, Jamison scored his first touchdown of the season. He also had a 55-yard touchdown catch against the New York Giants. He made a 52-yard punt return in that game too.

On October 9, 2016, he returned a punt 85 yards for a touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens. This was the first time a Redskins player had done this since 2008. Because of this play, he was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

He had three games with over 100 receiving yards in a row. He also scored a touchdown in three straight games. He reached 100 career catches in just 25 games. This was the third fastest in the team's history. Jamison finished the season with 67 catches for 847 yards and seven touchdowns.

2017 and 2018 Seasons

In 2017, Jamison had a great game on Thanksgiving Day. He gained 141 receiving yards and scored a touchdown. He finished the season with 66 catches for 789 yards and three touchdowns. In 2018, he played in nine games. He had 29 catches for 388 yards and two touchdowns.

New York Jets (2019–2021)

On March 15, 2019, Jamison signed a three-year contract with the New York Jets.

2019 Season Highlights

In his first game with the Jets, he caught 14 passes for 99 yards. This tied a team record for most catches by a wide receiver in a game. In Week 9, he scored his first touchdown as a Jet. He finished the 2019 season leading the team in catches, receiving yards, and touchdowns. He had 78 catches for 833 yards and six touchdowns.

2020 Season Highlights

In Week 1 of the 2020 season, Jamison had seven catches for 115 yards. This included a 69-yard touchdown. He had two more games with over 100 receiving yards that season. In Week 16, he even threw his first career touchdown pass! It was a 43-yard trick play. He finished the 2020 season with 59 catches for 699 yards and six touchdowns.

2021 Season

Jamison finished the 2021 season with 51 catches for 447 yards and two touchdowns. He played in 12 games.

Buffalo Bills (2022)

On March 22, 2022, Jamison signed a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills. He got an ankle injury in Week 4 and was placed on injured reserve.

New York Giants (2023)

On March 23, 2023, Jamison signed with the New York Giants. He was released from the team in August.

Washington Commanders (2023–Present)

On September 6, 2023, Jamison signed with the practice squad of the Washington Commanders. He joined the main team five days later. In Week 6, he had a 61-yard punt return. This was the longest in the league that week. He was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his great play.

On March 13, 2024, Jamison signed another one-year contract with the Commanders. He was placed on injured reserve in October 2024 due to a calf injury. He was activated and able to play again in December 2024.

Personal Life

Jamison Crowder has a younger brother named Jamaris. His brother was born with Down Syndrome. Jamison graduated from Duke University in December 2014. He earned a degree in sociology. He also studied African and African American topics.
