Jason Saab, born on October 8, 2000, is a professional rugby league player from Australia. He plays as a winger for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles team in the National Rugby League (NRL). Jason is famous for how incredibly fast he runs and how well he scores tries. Before joining the Sea Eagles, he played for the St. George Illawarra Dragons.

Jason Saab was born in Newtown, New South Wales, Australia. He has family roots from Nigeria and also from Indigenous Australians. His last name, Saab, comes from his step-father, who is Lebanese.
Jason's Early Rugby League Days
Jason started playing rugby league when he was young. He played for junior teams like the Merrylands Rams, Parramatta City Titans, and Carlongford Cougars. He also went to Westfields Sports High School and finished there in 2018.
In 2018, Jason was chosen to play for the Australian Schoolboys rugby league team. This was a big honor, and he got to represent Australia in London, United Kingdom.
Jason Saab's Professional Career
2019: Starting in the NRL
Jason Saab made his first big debut in the NRL in 2019. He played for the St. George Illawarra Dragons in Round 19 of the 2019 NRL season. In his very first game against the South Sydney Rabbitohs, he started as a winger and scored two tries! Even though his team lost 20–16, it was an amazing start for him.
2020: Moving to Manly
In 2020, Jason wanted to move closer to his home in Western Sydney. He asked to leave his contract with the St. George Illawarra Dragons. The Dragons agreed to let him go if they received something in return.
Jason played only four games for St. George in the 2020 NRL season. The team finished 13th that year. On November 26, 2020, Jason was officially released from his contract. Soon after, he signed a three-year deal to play for the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles.
2021: A Great Year with Manly
In Round 1 of the 2021 NRL season, Jason played his first game for the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles. In Round 6, he scored two tries in Manly's big 36–0 win against the Gold Coast.
Jason had an amazing year in 2021.
- In Round 9, he scored a hat-trick (three tries) against the New Zealand Warriors.
- In Round 10, he scored two more tries in Manly's huge 50–6 victory over Brisbane.
- In Round 15, he scored two tries again against the Gold Coast.
- The very next week, he scored another hat-trick in Manly's massive 66–0 win over Canterbury.
- In Round 20, he scored two tries in a win against Cronulla.
At the end of 2021, Jason Saab and his teammate Josh Schuster both won the Ken Arthurson Rising Star Award. This award recognized their strong performance for Manly that season.
2022: Challenges and Team Standings
In Round 18 of the 2022 NRL season, Jason scored two tries in a 42–12 win against Newcastle. He played in 16 games for Manly that year and scored seven tries. Manly finished the season in 11th place.
2023: Scoring Tries Again
Jason returned to play for Manly in Round 6 of the 2023 NRL season. He scored a try in that game.
- In Round 25, Jason scored a hat-trick against the New Zealand Warriors.
- In Round 27, he scored two tries in Manly's big 54–12 win over the Wests Tigers.
Jason played 19 games for Manly in 2023 and scored 14 tries. The team finished 12th and did not make the finals.
2024: Speed and New Contract
Jason played for Manly in the first game of the 2024 NRL season. This special game was held in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Allegiant Stadium. He scored a long-range try before halftime. However, he got a hamstring injury near the end of the game, which meant he missed the next five weeks of play.
During the game, a TV caption showed that Jason is one of the fastest players in the NRL. His fastest recorded time for a 100-meter sprint is 10.67 seconds. His Manly teammate Tolu Koula holds a record of 10.58 seconds for the 100m sprint, set in 2019.
On June 4, 2024, Jason Saab signed a new contract with Manly. He will stay with the team until the end of the 2029 season. In Round 18 of the 2024 NRL season, Jason scored a hat-trick in Manly's exciting 21-20 win over North Queensland. He played 17 games for Manly in 2024 and scored 12 tries. The team finished 7th and made it to the finals, but they were eliminated in the second week by the Sydney Roosters.
2025: Reaching Milestones
In Round 11 of the 2025 NRL season, Jason scored two tries for Manly in their 24-6 victory over North Queensland. In Round 21, Jason played his 100th first-grade game for Manly.
