Jawun B. Evans (born July 26, 1996) is an American professional basketball player. He plays as a point guard. He last played for the Maine Celtics in the NBA G League. Before becoming a professional, Evans played college basketball for Oklahoma State. He was named an All-American during the 2016–17 season.

Early Life and High School Basketball
Jawun Evans started his high school basketball journey in Greenville, South Carolina. As a freshman, he scored 26 points to help his team, Southside High School, win a big championship game in 2012. Southside finished that season as the runner-up in the South Carolina Class 3A state championship.
For his sophomore year (2012–13), Evans moved to Legacy Early College, also in Greenville. He played very well against some of the best young basketball players. Later, he moved to Dallas, Texas.
Playing in Texas
In Texas, Evans became a star player at Justin F. Kimball High School during his junior and senior years. He was chosen for the prestigious Parade All-America team and the McDonald's All-American Game in 2015. These honors mean he was one of the best high school players in the country.
After high school, Evans decided to play college basketball for Oklahoma State. He chose them over other well-known schools like Illinois, USC, and Texas.
International Play
Before starting his freshman year at Oklahoma State, Evans played for the United States team. He competed in the 2015 FIBA Under-19 World Championship in Greece. His team, USA, won the championship by beating Croatia in an exciting overtime game.
College Basketball Career
At Oklahoma State, Jawun Evans quickly showed his talent.
Freshman Year Success
As a freshman, he averaged 12.9 points, 4.9 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game. He set a new record for Oklahoma State freshmen by scoring 42 points in a game against their rival, Oklahoma. Even though he missed more than a month of the season due to a shoulder injury, he was named the Big 12 Conference Freshman of the Year.
Sophomore Year Achievements
When he returned for his sophomore season, Evans was recognized as one of the top players in the Big 12 Conference before the season even began. By the end of the regular season, he was named to the first-team all-conference. He was also chosen as a third-team All-American by Sporting News magazine.

Jawun Evans began his professional career in 2017.
Starting in the NBA
On June 22, 2017, Evans was picked by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2017 NBA draft. He was the 39th player chosen overall. A few weeks later, on July 6, 2017, he was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. He played for the Clippers until October 2018.
NBA G League and Other Teams
After leaving the Clippers, Evans joined the Northern Arizona Suns in the NBA G League in November 2018. He also signed a special contract with the Phoenix Suns in December, allowing him to play for both teams.
In March 2019, Evans briefly played for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Later that year, he joined the Raptors 905, another NBA G League team. He played well, averaging 8 points, 4 assists, and 5 rebounds per game, but a serious injury ended his season in March 2020.
Playing Overseas
In January 2021, Evans moved to Greece to play for Promitheas Patras in the Greek Basket League.
Return to G League and Europe
He returned to the Raptors 905 in October 2021. In January 2022, he was traded to the Cleveland Charge in the NBA G League.
In September 2022, Evans signed with Juventus Utena in Lithuania. In July 2023, he joined Śląsk Wrocław in Poland. He also played briefly for JDA Dijon Basket in France in March 2024.
In August 2024, Evans signed with Legia Warsaw in Poland. Most recently, in January 2025, he joined the Maine Celtics in the NBA G League.
