Discovering the Trumpet
When Jean-Claude Borelly was seven years old, he watched Louis Armstrong play the trumpet on TV. This made him fall in love with the instrument. He met a well-known trumpeter from the Paris Opera. This kind musician helped Jean-Claude learn the trumpet. He guided him through his music studies at the Conservatory and the Normal School of Music.

At 14, Jean-Claude took trumpet lessons at a music school in Paris. When he was 18, he wanted to share his love for music. So, he started teaching trumpet to new students at the same music school.

In the 1970s, Borelly became very interested in rhythm and blues music. He loved it so much that he stopped his classical music studies. Instead, he began playing in different bands.

The year 1975 was a very important time for Jean-Claude Borelly. He recorded a song called "Dolannes Melodie." This song was the main theme for a movie called Un linceul n'a pas de poches. This recording completely changed his future.

"Dolannes Melodie" quickly became a top song in many European countries. It was a hit in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands. Outside of Europe, it was number one in Mexico. It was also very popular in Japan and reached #13 in Canada. The song sold over one million copies and earned a gold disc.

With "Dolannes Melodie," Jean-Claude Borelly showed off his own modern trumpet style. He worked with Paul de Senneville and Olivier Toussaint, who were his composers and producers. Together, they created a lovely and romantic style of music.
Recent Music and Concerts
In 1995, Jean-Claude Borelly decided to move to Las Vegas in the United States. He performed many concerts there. In 2000, he came back to France. Three years later, in 2003, he wrote and recorded an album called The Sound of Lac d'Amour.
