Jean Tiberi (born 30 January 1935 – died 27 May 2025) was a French politician. He is best known for serving as the Mayor of Paris from 1995 to 2001. He was born in Paris, France, and had family roots in Corsica.

Jean Tiberi had a long career in French politics. He first became a member of the National Assembly in August 1968. The National Assembly is like the main parliament in France, where laws are made. He served there for many years, representing Paris.

In 1976, he briefly worked in the French government as a Secretary of State. This role meant he helped the Minister of Agriculture with topics related to the food industry. After this, he returned to the National Assembly and continued to be re-elected in many elections until 2012.

Besides his work in the National Assembly, Jean Tiberi was also very involved in local government in Paris. He served as the Mayor of the 5th arrondissement of Paris. An arrondissement is like a borough or a district within a big city. He was the mayor of this area from 1983 to 1995.

His most important role was becoming the Mayor of Paris in May 1995. He held this position until March 2001. After his time as Mayor of Paris, he was again elected as the Mayor of the 5th arrondissement in 2001, continuing in that role for many more years.

Jean Tiberi was one of the longest-serving members of the National Assembly. He served 10 terms, which means he was a member for 44 years in total. He decided not to run for re-election in 2012.
