Jennifer Abel is a famous Canadian diver. She was born on August 23, 1991. Jennifer is known for her amazing dives, especially in synchronized diving. She won an Olympic bronze medal in 2012 and a silver medal in 2020, both in synchronized 3-meter springboard diving.
Jennifer is also a four-time champion at the Commonwealth Games. She has won three gold medals at the Pan American Games. She holds a record for Canadian divers at the FINA World Championships with ten medals.

Jennifer's Diving Journey
Jennifer Abel started her Olympic journey very young. She was only 16 when she competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics. Even though she did not win a medal that year, she gained valuable experience.
Early Success and Teamwork
After the 2008 Olympics, Jennifer teamed up with Émilie Heymans. They won many medals together on the Grand Prix circuit. Émilie's experience helped Jennifer improve her skills a lot.
In 2010, Jennifer became a champion at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. She won gold in both the 1-meter springboard and the 3-meter synchronized springboard with Émilie Heymans. She also earned a silver medal in the 3-meter springboard. Jennifer was very happy with her results. She felt they showed she was ready for the Olympics.
In 2011, Jennifer continued her success. She won a bronze and a silver medal at the World Championships. These were for the 3-meter springboard and 3-meter synchronized diving with Émilie. She also won a silver medal with Émilie at the 2011 Pan American Games. Because of her great year, Jennifer was named the top female athlete by the Aquatic Federation of Canada.
Olympic Medals and More Wins
At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Jennifer and Émilie Heymans won a bronze medal. This was for the 3-meter synchronized springboard event. Jennifer was only 20 years old when she won her first Olympic medal. She said it took time to truly realize what they had achieved.
Jennifer competed at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. She and her new partner, Pamela Ware, won a silver medal in 3-meter synchronized springboard. Jennifer then won a gold medal in the 1-meter springboard event. She finished the games with another silver medal in the 3-meter single springboard. This brought her total to three medals at those games.
At the 2016 Summer Olympics, Jennifer finished fourth in both her solo and synchronized 3-meter springboard events. This was a tough result for her.
New Partnerships and Records
After the 2016 Olympics, Jennifer started diving with Mélissa Citrini-Beaulieu. In their first year together, they won a silver medal at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships. Jennifer also teamed up with François Imbeau-Dulac in mixed 3-meter synchronized springboard. They won a bronze medal in that event.
Individually, Jennifer also won a bronze medal in the 3-meter springboard at these championships. With these three medals, Jennifer tied Alexandre Despatie for the most medals won by a Canadian at the FINA World Championships. At the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Jennifer won the gold medal in the women's 3-meter springboard.
Jennifer qualified to represent Canada at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. There, she and Mélissa Citrini-Beaulieu won a silver medal in the 3-meter synchronized springboard event.
Jennifer Abel officially announced her retirement from diving after the Tokyo Olympics.
Jennifer's Life Outside Diving
Jennifer Abel has a Haitian background. She is engaged to David Lemieux, who is a former boxing champion. They have two children together.
