Jerell Dwayne Springer (born January 19, 1999) is an American basketball player. He plays for BC Kavkasia in the Georgia A League. Jerell is 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.

He was a very promising player in high school in Nevada. He went to Shadow Ridge and Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas. Even though he had some problems playing in his last year of high school, he was still a top player. He planned to play college basketball for Southern Utah. But he decided not to go there. Instead, he joined the JBA, which is a professional basketball league.

Jerell Springer's High School Basketball Journey

Jerell Springer played basketball for three years at Shadow Ridge High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. In July 2015, he was chosen as an All-Star at a special basketball camp. This camp was called the Full-Court Press All-West Camp. It took place in Norwalk, California.

During his junior year, Jerell played really well. He scored about 20.4 points per game. He also got 9.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. Because of his great performance, he was named to the All-League team. He also earned a spot on the third-team All-State list. By the end of that season, many colleges wanted him to play for them. He received scholarship offers from colleges like Pacific and Southern Utah.

Challenges in His Senior Year

For his senior year, Jerell moved to Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas. However, he was not allowed to play for his new school at first. His family hired a lawyer to help with this problem. The case even went to a special court. Jerell said it was "pretty hard watching" his team play. He felt sad because it was his last year, and he wanted to show what he could do.

A court order allowed him to play in one game on January 21, 2017. In that game, he scored seven points against Ed W. Clark High School. Even though he missed most of the season, Desert Pines High School won the Class 3A state championship that year.

Playing for Travel Teams and College Plans

In the same year, Jerell played for his travel team, 702 Attack. He impressed many college teams with his skills. Teams like UNLV and BYU showed interest in him. He even visited BYU's campus twice.

In May 2017, Jerell decided to play for the Southern Utah Thunderbirds. The coach, Todd Simon, was very happy. He said Jerell showed the spirit they wanted in a player and teammate. However, Jerell later changed his mind. He decided not to go to Southern Utah. Instead, he chose to play an extra year at a special prep school. This was Planet Athlete Academy in Tempe, Arizona. He hoped this would help him get more interest from other college programs. On December 2, 2017, he had a fantastic game there. He scored 29 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and made 5 assists.

Jerell Springer's Professional Basketball Career

In April 2018, Jerell Springer tried out for the Junior Basketball Association (JBA). This tryout was in Houston, Texas. He was one of only seven players chosen to join the league. He became a player for the Seattle Ballers.

A former NBA player named Ed O'Bannon praised Jerell. O'Bannon was part of the selection committee. He said Jerell "played hard" and had "great knowledge of the game." He also noted that Jerell was good at attacking the basket and getting rebounds.

Playing for the Seattle Ballers

Jerell played his first game for the Seattle Ballers on June 23, 2018. He scored 22 points, got 15 rebounds, and made 5 assists. His team won the game 121–103 against the Dallas Ballers. The very next day, Jerell had an amazing game. He scored 48 points, which was the most in the game. However, his team lost a close game 150–145 to the Los Angeles Ballers.

Because of his great play, Jerell was chosen for the West roster in the JBA All-Star Game. In the championship game, Seattle lost to Los Angeles 132–121. But Jerell was the top scorer for his team with 32 points.

International Tour with JBA USA Team

After the first JBA season ended, Jerell was picked for the JBA's USA Team. This team went on an international tour in 2018. On September 22, Jerell played in the team's first international game. He scored 8 points and got 7 rebounds. His team won a close game 120–118 against the Svendborg Rabbits from Denmark.

On October 8, Jerell was the top scorer in another game. He scored 36 points in a 131–118 win. This game was against BK Liepājas Lauvas from the Latvian Basketball League. A few days later, on October 11, Jerell played well again. He scored 27 points, made 11 of 19 shots, got eight rebounds, and had three steals. His team won 135–127 against CSKA-2.

Joining BC Kavkasia

In January 2020, Jerell Springer signed a one-year contract. He joined BC Kavkasia, a team in the Georgia A League. On March 13, 2020, he was named the A League Player of the Week. This was after he scored 29 points and got 11 rebounds in a game against Burji. He continues to play for BC Kavkasia.
