Jeremy Jermaine Gallon (born February 9, 1990) is a former American football player. He was an amazing wide receiver who played college football for the University of Michigan. Jeremy holds some impressive records from his time there. He is second all-time in school history for how many passes he caught and how many yards he gained receiving.

He also set a school record for the most receiving yards in one season, with 1,373 yards. Plus, he holds a Big Ten Conference record for the most receiving yards in a single game, with an incredible 369 yards! After his college career, Jeremy was chosen by the New England Patriots in the 2014 NFL draft. He also played professionally in several other football leagues.

Early Life and High School Football

Jeremy Gallon grew up in Apopka, Florida. He was a fantastic athlete at Apopka High School. He played many positions, including quarterback, running back, and safety. In just three years of high school football, he gained a total of 5,905 yards. This included 4,281 yards from rushing and 1,624 yards from passing. He also scored 53 rushing touchdowns and threw 15 touchdowns!

When he was a sophomore, Jeremy played as a running back. But in his junior year, he switched to quarterback, even though he had never played that position before. He quickly became the 2007 All-Central Florida quarterback. That year, he rushed for 1,613 yards and 23 touchdowns, and passed for 1,071 yards and eight touchdowns. He was very accurate, completing 63.6% of his passes with no interceptions. His coach, Rick Darlington, called him "freaky" because of his talent.

In his senior year, Jeremy continued to shine. He gained 2,383 total yards, with 1,830 rushing yards and 553 passing yards. In one game, he rushed for 304 yards and scored three touchdowns! Experts like Rivals.com rated him as a top player. He was even chosen to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. The Orlando Sentinel also named him the Offensive Player of the Year when he was a junior.

College Football Career

Jeremy Gallon was a star player for the University of Michigan. He was their top receiver for three years in a row, from 2011 to 2013. He set some amazing records during his time there.

Record-Breaking Performances

On October 19, 2013, Jeremy had an incredible game against the Indiana Hoosiers. He gained 369 receiving yards in that single game! This set a new record for the Big Ten Conference. It's also the second-highest number of receiving yards ever in a single game in NCAA Division FBS history! Only Troy Edwards had more, with 405 yards.

During the 2013 season, Jeremy also set a new record for the Michigan Wolverines football team. He gained 1,373 receiving yards in one season, which is the most in school history.

Starting at Michigan (2009-2010)

Jeremy committed to the University of Michigan in June 2008. He started at Michigan in the fall of 2009 but didn't play in any games that year. In 2010, he made his debut for the Wolverines. He was great at returning kickoffs, leading the team with 27 returns for 589 yards. He also returned 10 punts. In September 2010, he caught two passes for 25 yards and scored a touchdown against Bowling Green.

Sophomore Season (2011)

In 2011, Jeremy became a key player for Michigan. He was the team's leading receiver early in the season. In a thrilling game against Notre Dame on September 10, 2011, he caught two passes for 78 yards. One of these was a 64-yard catch late in the game that helped Michigan score the winning touchdown! People were amazed at how open he was for that catch.

The next week, he had three catches for 43 yards against Eastern Michigan. He also had an 80-yard punt return, but it was called back due to a penalty. For his great play, he was given a game ball. Later that season, he caught a 25-yard touchdown pass against Northwestern. By the end of the 2011 regular season, he had 30 catches for 450 yards and three touchdowns. He was also the team's top punt returner.

Junior Season (2012)

During the 2012 season, Jeremy was again the team's leading receiver. He had 49 catches for 829 yards and four touchdowns. He averaged 16.9 yards per catch! In the first game of the season against Alabama, he caught four passes for 107 yards, including a very long 71-yard catch. He also had another 71-yard touchdown catch against Illinois. In the final home game, he caught five passes for 133 yards against Iowa.

Jeremy also continued to return punts for Michigan in 2012. His great performance earned him an honorable mention for the All-Big Ten team.

Senior Season (2013)

Jeremy's senior year in 2013 was his best. Through the first seven games, he was Michigan's top receiver with 45 catches for 831 yards and seven touchdowns.

In Michigan's big win over Notre Dame on September 7, 2013, Jeremy caught eight passes for 184 yards and scored three touchdowns! His 184 receiving yards in that game is one of the highest single-game performances in Michigan's history. As mentioned before, his 369-yard game against Indiana set a Big Ten record. He finished his college career as one of Michigan's all-time greatest receivers.

Professional Football Career

After his amazing college career, Jeremy Gallon was chosen by the New England Patriots in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL draft. He was the 244th player picked overall. He spent some time with the Patriots but was later released.

After his time in the NFL, Jeremy played for several other football leagues. He signed with the Brooklyn Bolts in the Fall Experimental Football League in 2014. He also signed a contract with the Oakland Raiders in December 2014, but was later waived by them in May 2015.

In December 2015, Jeremy joined the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League. He also played in the Arena Football League (AFL) for the Orlando Predators and was briefly claimed by the Jacksonville Sharks. Later in 2016, he played for the Nojima Sagamihara Rise in Japan's X-League, playing alongside his former Michigan teammate, Devin Gardner.

In 2018, Jeremy signed with the Richmond Roughriders. He also signed with Alliance Atlanta in the Alliance of American Football in September 2018, but he did not make their final team roster.
