Jeremy Hill (born October 20, 1992) is an American former professional football player. He played as a running back in the National Football League (NFL). Jeremy played college football for the LSU Tigers. The Cincinnati Bengals picked him in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft.
He played his first four seasons with the Bengals. He had a great first year and was a main player for the next three years. In 2015, he was one of the top players for rushing touchdowns. He later joined the New England Patriots in 2018. With the Patriots, he won Super Bowl LIII, even though he was injured for most of that season. After a break, Hill signed with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020 but was released soon after. He tried to return to football in the XFL in 2022. Jeremy Hill announced his retirement in 2023.

Early Life and High School Football
Jeremy Hill grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He went to Redemptorist High School. There, he was a talented athlete in three sports: football, baseball, and track.
In football, Jeremy was an All-American running back. He played alongside La'el Collins, who also became an LSU offensive lineman. In his senior year (2010), Hill ran for 2,260 yards and scored 36 touchdowns. Experts saw him as one of the top running back players in the country.
College Football Career

Jeremy Hill went to Louisiana State University. He played for the LSU Tigers football team in 2012 and 2013.
2012 College Season
As a freshman in 2012, Jeremy quickly became an important player. On September 15, he scored his first two college touchdowns against Idaho. On October 13, he had a big game against South Carolina. He ran for 124 yards and scored two touchdowns. A week later, he ran for 127 yards and another touchdown against Texas A&M.
He continued to play well, running for over 100 yards in several games. In the 2012 Chick-fil-A Bowl on December 31, he ran for 124 yards and two touchdowns against Clemson. Overall, in his freshman year, Hill ran for 755 yards and scored 12 touchdowns.
2013 College Season
Jeremy had an amazing sophomore season in 2013. On September 21, he had his best game, running for 184 yards and scoring three touchdowns against Auburn. He also had strong games against Florida and Furman.
In his last regular season game for LSU, he ran for 145 yards and a touchdown against Arkansas. On January 1, 2014, he played in the 2014 Outback Bowl against Iowa. He ran for 216 yards and two touchdowns, earning the MVP award for the game. In his final college season, Hill ran for 1,401 yards and scored 16 touchdowns. He was named a first-team All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) player.

Professional Football Career
The Cincinnati Bengals chose Jeremy Hill in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He was the 55th player picked overall. He signed a four-year contract with the Bengals.

2014 Season with the Bengals
Jeremy started his first NFL season as a backup running back. In his second game, he scored his first NFL touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons. On November 2, he started his first professional game. He ran for 154 yards and two touchdowns against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He had several more strong games, including 152 rushing yards against the New Orleans Saints. On December 14, he ran for 148 yards and two touchdowns against the Cleveland Browns. This earned him the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award. He also had an 85-yard touchdown run against the Denver Broncos.
Jeremy finished his first season with 1,124 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. He was the first Bengals rookie since 1997 to run for over 1,000 yards. His rushing yards were the most among all rookies that year. He was named to the All-Rookie Team. In his first playoff game, he scored the Bengals' only touchdown against the Indianapolis Colts.
2015 Season with the Bengals
Jeremy began his second season as the Bengals' main running back. In the first game, he scored two touchdowns against the Oakland Raiders. He scored three touchdowns against the Kansas City Chiefs on October 4. He also caught his first career touchdown pass against the Buffalo Bills.
On December 6, he ran for 98 yards and a touchdown against the Cleveland Browns. In a playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jeremy ran for 50 yards and a touchdown. However, a late fumble in that game was a tough moment for the team. He finished the 2015 season with 794 rushing yards. He tied for the most rushing touchdowns in the NFL with 11.
2016 Season with the Bengals
In Week 3, Jeremy scored two touchdowns against the Denver Broncos. This was his seventh game with multiple rushing touchdowns. On October 23, he had his best rushing game with 168 yards and a touchdown against the Cleveland Browns. His touchdown was a long 74-yard run. He also ran for 76 yards and a touchdown against the Washington Redskins. Jeremy finished the 2016 season with 839 rushing yards and nine touchdowns.
2017 Season with the Bengals
Jeremy started the 2017 season as the Bengals' lead running back. However, he suffered an ankle injury and was placed on injured reserve in November 2017. This ended his season early. He finished with 116 rushing yards.
New England Patriots
In March 2018, Jeremy Hill signed a one-year contract with the New England Patriots. He earned a spot on the team after a good preseason. However, in the very first game of the season, he suffered a serious knee injury (a torn ACL). This injury ended his season. Even though he was injured, the Patriots went on to win Super Bowl LIII that year.
Las Vegas Raiders
Jeremy Hill signed with the Las Vegas Raiders in August 2020. But he was released by the team just two days later.
Later Career and Retirement
After his time with the Raiders, Jeremy started working in sports broadcasting. He co-hosted a sports-talk show called "Hunt and Hill." In November 2022, he left the show to try to make a comeback in the XFL.
However, on May 23, 2023, Jeremy Hill announced his retirement from football. He explained that the knee injury he suffered in 2018 made it too difficult to continue playing.
