Jesse Everett Hughes (born September 24, 1972) is an American singer and musician. He is famous as the lead singer of the rock band Eagles of Death Metal. With his band, he has made four studio albums and one live album. Jesse Hughes also has a solo music career. For his solo work, he uses the name Boots Electric.

Early Life and School
Jesse Everett Hughes was born in Greenville, South Carolina. This was on September 24, 1972. When he was seven, he moved to Palm Desert, California. He moved with his mother, Jo Ellen.
In high school, he met Josh Homme. They became very good friends. Josh helped Jesse when a bully was bothering him. Jesse later went to Greenville Technical College. He earned a degree in journalism there. For several years, he managed a video store in Palm Desert.
Jesse Hughes' Music Career
Starting Eagles of Death Metal
Jesse Hughes and Josh Homme created the band Eagles of Death Metal in 1998. They started making music together. The band became well-known for its rock sound.
On November 13, 2015, the band was playing a concert. They were at the Le Bataclan theater in Paris. During their show, the theater was attacked. The band members were able to escape safely through a backstage area.
Other Music and Film Projects
In September 2011, Jesse Hughes released his first solo album. It was called Honkey Kong. He released it under his solo name, Boots Electric. The album came out on Dangerbird Records.
In 2015, Jesse appeared in a silent film. The movie was called Gutterdämmerung. It was directed by Björn Tagemose. Other famous musicians like Iggy Pop and Lemmy were also in the film.
In 2017, Jesse starred in a documentary. It was called Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends). The film was directed by Colin Hanks. It was about the 2015 Paris attack. The documentary also featured Josh Homme and Bono.
In 2020, Jesse Hughes became a Senior Reporter. He worked for MUSE TV and Culturally Obsessed. In 2021, he worked with musician Muck Sticky. They released a song and music video called "Stir Crazy". In the same year, Eagles of Death Metal announced a tour. It was to celebrate their 24th anniversary.
