Jessica Oyelowo (born Jessica Watson in 1978) is a talented British-American actress and singer. She is known for her work in movies, television shows, and on the stage.

Early Life and Education
Jessica was born in Ipswich, England, and grew up in a town called Woodbridge. As a child, she went to Woodbridge School. She was also a member of the National Youth Music Theatre, where she developed her skills as a performer.
Acting Career
Jessica Oyelowo has appeared in many different roles on screen and on the radio.
In 2006, she played Detective Sergeant Alex Jones in the TV show Mayo. The next year, she acted in the popular series Murphy's Law with actor James Nesbitt.
She also does voice acting. In 2007, she voiced the character Mrs. Equiano in a radio play called Grace Unshackled – The Olaudah Equiano Story. Her husband, David, voiced the main character, Olaudah Equiano. The story was based on Equiano's real-life autobiography from 1789.
Personal Life
Jessica is married to the actor David Oyelowo. They met when they were both students at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and have been married since 1998. The couple has four children and lives in Tarzana, a neighborhood in Southern California. Before moving to the United States, they lived in Brighton, England.
Both Jessica and her husband are devoted Christians.
On July 20, 2016, Jessica and David officially became US citizens. Because her husband is a prince of the Yoruba tribe in Nigeria, Jessica has the right to use the special title Olori, which means queen or princess consort. However, she chooses not to use this title in her daily life.

Stage Work
