Meng Jia (Chinese: 孟佳; pinyin: Mèng Jiā), known simply as Jia, is a talented Chinese singer and actress. She was born on February 3, 1989. Many people know her as a former member of the popular South Korean girl group Miss A. After her contract ended in May 2016, Jia started her solo music career in China. She signed with Banana Culture Music in 2016 to continue making music.

Jia's Early Life and Career
Growing Up and Starting Out
Meng Jia was born on February 3, 1989. She was the only child in her family. Jia went to school in Beijing, China. In 2007, a big entertainment company called JYP Entertainment discovered her. She later studied at the Seoul Institute of the Arts in South Korea.
Jia was first part of a group called "Sisters." This group was meant to be a Chinese version of the famous Wonder Girls. However, the group changed members and trainees, and it eventually broke up. In 2009, Jia appeared in a music video for the group 2PM called "My Color." She was in it with another future Miss A member, Fei.
Becoming a Star with Miss A
In 2010, Jia officially joined the girl group Miss A. The group had four members and started their music journey on July 1, 2010.
While with Miss A, Jia also appeared in other projects. She was in music videos, like M&D's "Close Ur Mouth." She also had small acting roles in the TV shows Dream High and Dream High 2. In 2012, when Miss A was taking a break, Jia was busy. She participated in fashion shows and magazines. She also performed with singer Ivy and appeared on the TV show Let's Go Dream Team 2 in Vietnam.
From 2013 to 2015, Jia co-hosted a radio show called C-Radio for MBC. She hosted it with Fei and Super Junior's Zhou Mi.
Jia also started her acting career. In 2014, she acted in the Chinese TV series One and a Half Summer with 2PM's Nichkhun. In 2015, she starred in the Chinese movie The Third Way of Love.
Her last music album with Miss A was Colors, released on March 30, 2015. In May 2016, Jia decided not to renew her contract. She then left both Miss A and JYP Entertainment.
Jia's Solo Music Journey
Starting Her Solo Career
On June 8, 2016, Meng Jia signed with Banana Culture Music. This was the start of her solo career in China. Her first solo song, "Drip," came out on November 18, 2016. After that, she released "Who's That Girl" on January 3, 2017. This song was very popular and reached number 6 on Billboard China. She then released "Candy" on April 7, 2017.
Jia won the "Breakthrough Female Artist of the Year" award at the 5th Annual V Chart Awards on April 8, 2017. Her fourth song, "Mood," was released on December 19, 2017. It featured Jackson Wang from the group Got7.
Jia continued to release new music. Her fifth song, "Weapon," came out on March 20, 2018. Her sixth song, "Free," was released on June 4, 2018. She also announced her seventh song, "Liwai (例外)," in September 2018.
In 2019, Jia left Banana Culture Entertainment. She continued her solo activities independently. In 2020, she joined a reality show called "Sisters Who Makes Waves" on Hunan TV. In the final episode, she won the "2020 Most Loved Treasure Sister" award. She also placed third overall, joining a new group called "X-SISTER."
In January 2021, Meng Jia released her song "Glass Wall (透明空間)." On June 26 of the same year, she started her own personal brand called Random Experiment (Re 隨機試驗). Later, on November 26, she released her first Chinese-style dance song, "Oriental (東方)."
On June 30, 2023, Meng Jia held her first solo concert in Guangzhou, China. At the concert, she performed new songs from her second EP, which is called "JIALAND."
