Jock Climie is a Canadian who used to play football. He was a slotback, which is a type of receiver in football. He played mostly for the Ottawa Rough Riders and Montreal Alouettes.

After his football career, Jock Climie became a sportscaster. He worked for TSN, a Canadian sports TV channel. He was part of the CFL on TSN show during the football season. Today, Climie is a lawyer who works with companies and employees. He practices law in Ottawa at a firm called Emond Harnden.

Playing Football in College

Jock Climie went to Queen's University. While he was there, he played university football for the Queen's Golden Gaels team.

In 1988, he set a new record for receiving yards in Canadian university football. He gained 1,091 yards that season. This record was later broken by other players. Climie was also nominated for the best national player award in 1988. He was even added to the Queen's Football Hall of Fame!

He was very dedicated to his studies too. He earned his law degree from Queen's University. He did this by going to classes in the winter while playing football in the summer and fall. It took him six years to finish his law degree this way.

Playing Football Professionally

After his great college career, Jock Climie was chosen in the 1990 CFL Draft. The Toronto Argonauts picked him fourth overall. He played in a couple of games for them at first.

Soon after, he joined the Ottawa Rough Riders. He played 62 games for this team. In 1993, he was named a CFL East All-Star, which means he was one of the best players in the eastern division.

In 1995, Climie returned to play for the Toronto Argonauts. Then, in 1996, he signed with the Montreal Alouettes. He had a fantastic time with the Alouettes. He was named a CFL East All-Star again in 1996 and 1997. In 1997, he also won the Lew Hayman Trophy. This award goes to the top Canadian player in the CFL's East Division.

Jock Climie finished his football career with the Alouettes in 2001. By the time he retired, he had caught 627 passes for 9,619 yards. He also scored 56 touchdowns! At that time, he was among the top 20 players in receiving yards in CFL history.
