Jocko Lake is a beautiful lake found in Northeastern Ontario, Canada. It is located in geographic Osborne Township, within the Nipissing District. This lake is special because it is the starting point for the Jocko River. It is also completely located inside the Jocko Rivers Provincial Park.
About Jocko Lake
Jocko Lake is an important part of a very large water system. This system is known as the Saint Lawrence River drainage basin. This means that all the water from Jocko Lake eventually flows into the Saint Lawrence River. The lake is about 3.6 kilometers (2.2 miles) long. It is also about 0.9 kilometers (0.56 miles) wide. Jocko Lake sits at an elevation of 308 meters (1,010 feet) above sea level.
Where the Water Goes
Jocko Lake gets its water from several smaller streams. These streams flow into the lake from different directions. There are six unnamed streams that feed into Jocko Lake. One stream comes from the east. Three streams flow in from the northeast. Another stream comes from the southwest, flowing from Brûlé Lake. Finally, two more streams enter the lake from the west.
The main way water leaves Jocko Lake is through the Jocko River. This river then flows into the Ottawa River. From the Ottawa River, the water continues its journey to the mighty Saint Lawrence River.

Along the southwest shore of Jocko Lake, you can find the Ontario Northland Railway. This railway line passes right through the community of Jocko. The community of Jocko is located right next to the lake.
