Jondaryan is located in Queensland, Australia. A railway line called the Western railway line goes through the area. Jondaryan used to have its own train station, but it's now closed. A nearby station, Malu, is still open for trains.

A Look Back in Time: Jondaryan's History

The name Jondaryan comes from an old farm name first used in 1841. People believe it's an Aboriginal word meaning 'a long way off'. The town was officially mapped out in June 1871.

Jondaryan got its Post Office in 1867. In 1868, Prince Alfred, the Duke of Edinburgh, even stayed overnight in Jondaryan. At that time, it was the end of the railway line.

Jondaryan Provisional School opened its doors on 12 February 1872. It later became Jondaryan State School in 1876. In 2015, an old church named St Jude's Anglican church was moved to the Jondaryan Woolshed. It is now used as a wedding chapel.
