Jonny Quinn's Early Life and Music Journey
Jonny Quinn went to Rockport School and Campbell College in Northern Ireland. The lead singer of Snow Patrol, Gary Lightbody, also attended these schools. Jonny once worked at a music store for Good Vibrations. This was the first record label to sign the famous band The Undertones.
Starting in Bands
In the early 1990s, Jonny was part of a band called Mighty Fall. He played with Iain Archer in this band. He was also a member of another band called The New Brontes. In 1992, he joined Disraeli Gears, which was started by Iain Archer's brother, Paul.
Learning and Creating Music Spaces
In 1995, Jonny finished a special course in Performing Arts. In 1996, he helped open a place for live music called The Crescent Arts Centre. Disraeli Gears often played shows at this venue. In 1997, they recorded their first album, Pure Groove.
Time with Snow Patrol
Jonny Quinn joined Snow Patrol before their first full album, Songs for Polarbears, was released. He was a key part of the band for many years.
Snowboarding Accident and Help from Friends
During Snow Patrol's Eyes Open Tour in 2007, Jonny had a snowboarding accident. He broke a bone in his elbow and could not play drums for some shows. Graham Hopkins, a drummer and friend of the band, filled in for him. Graham toured with Snow Patrol for three months while Jonny recovered.
At the 2007 BRIT Awards, U2's drummer, Larry Mullen, Jr., offered to play for Snow Patrol. However, the band already had Graham Hopkins helping out. Jonny said he felt "honored" that Larry Mullen, Jr. offered to help. Jonny Quinn has said that drummers like Ginger Baker, Louie Bellson, and Stewart Copeland have influenced his drumming style.
Starting a Publishing Company
In 2009, Jonny Quinn started his own music publishing company called Polar Patrol Publishing. His first signing was Johnny McDaid, who later wrote songs for many artists. These artists include Ed Sheeran, Birdy, and Robbie Williams. Jonny also signed the band Belle & Sebastian to Polar Patrol in 2014.

They got married in Mariane's hometown of Oslo on August 16, 2008. Jonny's brother, Bradley Quinn, was his best man. Other guests included the band members and Iain Archer.
