Jordan Sonnenblick is an American author who writes exciting books for young adults, just like you! He was born on July 4, 1969. He went to Stuyvesant High School in New York City and later studied at the University of Pennsylvania.
About Jordan Sonnenblick
Jordan Sonnenblick was born in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He grew up in Staten Island, New York. When he was in high school, he worked as a tutor and a summer camp counselor.
After college, in 1994, he got married and moved to Pennsylvania. Today, he lives in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with his wife and children. Jordan loves to visit schools across the United States, and sometimes even in other countries, to talk about his books. Since he started writing in 2004, he has published 14 books!
Jordan's Journey to Writing
Before becoming a full-time author, Jordan Sonnenblick was a teacher. He taught 5th grade in Houston, Texas, for three years. Then, he taught 8th grade English at middle schools in Hackettstown and Phillipsburg, New Jersey, for eleven years.
He always dreamed of being a writer. He also enjoys playing music, including the guitar, drums, and bass. His very first novel, Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie, was inspired by a student whose brother was battling cancer. This book helped launch his career as an author. In 2023, he even returned to Phillipsburg High School to substitute teach English classes for a semester.
