Jorge Ureña Andreu was born on October 8, 1993, in Onil, Spain. He is a Spanish athlete who competes in special events called combined events. These events test athletes in many different skills.
Jorge is very good at the Decathlon and the Heptathlon. The decathlon has ten different track and field events, and the heptathlon has seven. He has won several important medals in his career. For example, he won a silver medal at the 2015 European U23 Championships. He also finished seventh at the 2015 European Indoor Championships.

Jorge Ureña has competed in many major athletics championships around the world. He has represented Spain in events like the World Junior Championships and the Olympic Games.
Early Career and First Medals
In 2012, Jorge competed in the World Junior Championships in Barcelona. He finished 20th in the junior decathlon. Two years later, in 2014, he won his first major medal. He earned a silver medal in the decathlon at the Ibero-American Championships in Brazil.
In 2015, Jorge had a busy year. He placed seventh in the heptathlon at the European Indoor Championships. He then won another silver medal at the European U23 Championships in the decathlon. Later that year, he competed in the World Championships in Beijing.
European Indoor Success
Jorge has had great success at the European Indoor Championships. In 2017, he won a silver medal in the heptathlon in Belgrade, Serbia. This was a big achievement for him.
His biggest win came in 2019 at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow, United Kingdom. He won the gold medal in the heptathlon, showing he was one of the best in Europe. He continued his success in 2021, winning another silver medal in the heptathlon at the European Indoor Championships in Toruń, Poland.
World and Olympic Appearances
Jorge has also competed on the world stage. He finished ninth in the decathlon at the 2017 World Championships in London.
He made his Olympic debut at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo (held in 2021). He performed very well, finishing ninth in the decathlon. More recently, he competed in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, finishing 20th in the decathlon.
