Joshua Keeler Ramsay is a talented Canadian musician. He is a singer, songwriter, producer, and plays many instruments. He is most famous as the lead singer of the pop rock band Marianas Trench. Josh has also written and produced songs for many other artists, like Carly Rae Jepsen and Nickelback.

Early Life and Band Beginnings

Josh Ramsay grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Music was a big part of his family life. His mother was a vocal teacher, and his father owned a recording studio. Josh loved music from a young age. He started his own solo music career when he was 14.

Later, Josh decided he wanted a band to play with him. He first tried forming a band called Ramsay Fiction with his sister, Sara Ramsay. When that didn't work out, he teamed up with his high school friend, Matt Webb. They found Ian Casselman through a newspaper ad. Ian then introduced them to his roommate, Mike Ayley. These four musicians tried many names before choosing Marianas Trench.

In 2013, Marianas Trench won a big award. They received the 2013 Juno Award for Group of the Year. This award celebrates the best music groups in Canada.

On October 23, 2015, the band released their fourth album, Astoria. This album featured popular songs like "One Love" and "Astoria". Josh recorded this story-themed album at his own home.

Their fifth album, Phantoms, came out on March 1, 2019. Songs from this album include "I Knew You When" and "Echoes of You". The band explored how love and death are connected in this album.
