About Julia Golding
Julia Golding was born in London in 1969. She grew up near Epping Forest. She studied English at the University of Cambridge. After university, she worked for the Foreign Office. This is a part of the British government that deals with other countries.
Her job as a diplomat meant she traveled a lot. She visited places like Poland, the Tatra Mountains, and even a coal mine. After working as a diplomat, she went back to school. She earned a special degree called a doctorate from Oxford University. She studied English literature from the Romantic Period.
Later, Julia worked for Oxfam. This is a charity that helps people in need. She worked to help people affected by wars. She talked to governments and the United Nations to make things safer for people in war zones. Today, Julia Golding lives in Oxford and is a full-time writer. She is married and has three children.
In 2007, a big bookstore called Waterstones chose her as one of the top 25 authors of the future. Her first book, The Diamond of Drury Lane, was the start of the Cat Royal series.
