Justin Nicholas Jackson is a professional basketball player from Canada. He was born on February 18, 1997. He currently plays for the Ottawa BlackJacks team in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). Before turning pro, he played college basketball for the Maryland Terrapins. He was chosen in the second round of the 2018 NBA draft.

Early Life and High School Basketball
Justin Jackson was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He went to Findlay Prep high school in Henderson, Nevada. During his junior year, in 2015, he played in a big high school tournament. His team, Findlay Prep, was ranked #8 in the country.
They played against Ben Simmons' team, Montverde Academy, in the semi-finals. Findlay Prep lost a close game in overtime. That season, Justin averaged 14.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game. His team had a great record of 29 wins and only 2 losses.
In the summer of 2015, Justin played for an amateur team called Canada Elite. He and future NBA player Thon Maker led their team to the championship game. After his junior year, Justin moved to Hill Academy in Vaughan, Ontario. In 2016, he was named a First Team all-star in the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association.
College Career at Maryland
Justin Jackson was considered a top basketball player coming out of high school. Many experts rated him as a four-star recruit. On May 27, 2016, he decided to play college basketball for the University of Maryland.
In his first year at Maryland, he played very well. He averaged 10.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. After this season, he thought about entering the 2017 NBA draft, but he decided to stay in college.
Justin returned to Maryland for his second year. However, on December 28, 2017, he got a serious injury. He tore a part of his right shoulder and missed the rest of the season. He played only 11 games that year. After the season ended, on March 28, 2018, Justin decided to enter the 2018 NBA draft for good.
Professional Basketball Journey
Starting with Lakeland Magic (2018–2021)
On June 21, 2018, Justin Jackson was picked by the Denver Nuggets in the NBA draft. He was the 43rd player chosen overall. Soon after, he was traded to the Orlando Magic.
He then joined the Lakeland Magic, which is a team in the NBA G League. This league helps players develop their skills. In January 2019, Justin suffered an injury that ended his season early. He also missed the entire 2019–2020 season due to an Achilles injury.
In April 2020, Justin signed with the Hamilton Honey Badgers in the Canadian Elite Basketball League. He was the first NBA draftee to sign in that league. However, he did not play any games for them.
In January 2021, Justin returned to the Lakeland Magic. That year, his team won the G League championship! He played 11 games and helped his team win the title.
Playing for Guelph Nighthawks (2021)
After winning the G League championship, Justin signed with the Guelph Nighthawks in the Canadian Elite Basketball League. He played five games for them in 2021.
Time with Long Island Nets (2021–2022)
In October 2021, Justin's player rights were traded to the Long Island Nets, another NBA G League team. He joined their training camp. Unfortunately, he suffered another season-ending injury in January 2022 and was waived by the team.
Calgary Surge and Other Teams (2023–Present)
On May 9, 2023, Justin signed with the Calgary Surge of the Canadian Elite Basketball League. Later that year, he briefly joined the Rip City Remix in the NBA G League.
In February 2024, Justin played for the Grand Rapids Gold. Then, in May 2024, he returned to the Calgary Surge. As of May 2025, Justin Jackson is part of the training camp roster for the Ottawa BlackJacks in the CEBL.
