Kristopher Thomas Campbell (born on April 27, 1990), known as K Camp, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. K Camp started his music career in 2009.

He first became well-known in 2013 with his song "Money Baby". This led him to sign with Interscope Records. Later that year, his song "Cut Her Off" (which featured 2 Chainz) became a big hit. It reached number 49 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Both "Money Baby" and "Cut Her Off" sold very well, earning "platinum" awards. These songs came out before his first collection of songs, called an EP, titled In Due Time (2014).

K Camp's first full album, Only Way Is Up (2015), reached number 20 on the Billboard 200 chart. It included the popular song "Comfortable", which also sold very well and earned a "double platinum" award. In 2019, his song "Lottery (Renegade)" became very popular on the video app TikTok. Because of its success there, he signed with SoundOn, a company connected to TikTok, in 2023.

In 2018, K Camp started his own record label called Rare Sound. He was chosen as one of the top new artists for XXL magazine's 2015 Freshman Class. Rolling Stone magazine also named him a "New Artist You Need To Know" in the same year. He has been nominated for awards like the BET Hip Hop Award and an iHeartRadio Music Award.

In 2009, K Camp released a mixtape called "All Night." It became popular in the Atlanta music scene. This success made him decide to take music seriously. He then released other mixtapes like "Fan4Life," "Show Money," and "Slumlords." These mixtapes helped him connect with his "slums," a term he used for his family, friends, and fans.

K Camp became even more known in Atlanta's independent rap scene after being featured on Kirby Tha Hottest’s song “Shawty Go.” He wanted his music to reach beyond Atlanta. This led him to sign a deal with Interscope Records, and he released his first EP in 2014.

First EP and Chart Success

In April 2014, K Camp released his first EP, In Due Time. It was a new version of one of his earlier mixtapes. The main song from the EP, "Cut Her Off", featured fellow Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz. This song reached number 49 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It was also nominated for "Best Club Banger" at the 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards. The song also reached number 1 on USA Today's Urban Airplay chart. Other artists like Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, T.I., and YG even made their own versions of the song.

In 2014, five of K Camp's songs topped the Billboard Twitter Real-Time chart. This was more than any other artist that year. Rolling Stone magazine also recognized K Camp as a "New Artist You Need To Know."
