LePreston Porter III (born April 23, 1985 – died February 26, 2022), known as Snootie Wild, was an American rapper and singer. He became famous for his first song, "Yayo". This song helped start his music career. "Yayo" even made it onto the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

In October 2013, another rapper from Memphis, Yo Gotti, signed Snootie Wild to his Collective Music Group (CMG) label. In September 2014, Snootie Wild released his only extended play (EP), Go Mode. The second song from this EP, "Made Me", reached number 93 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. This was his highest-charting song ever. Snootie Wild later signed with Epic Records and CMG.

Early Life and Beginnings

LePreston Porter III was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 23, 1985. He was the nephew of Arthur Lee, a musician from the rock band Love. Growing up, Snootie Wild listened to popular artists like Three 6 Mafia, Project Pat, and Yo Gotti.

Music Journey

While working with Heartland Entertainment, Snootie Wild released his big hit song "Yayo". The song was produced by K-Figz. "Yayo" caught the attention of Yo Gotti, who then made a remix of the song. Gotti added his own part to the song.

Yo Gotti included this remix on his mixtape Nov 19: The Mixtape, released on September 2, 2013. The song was remixed again by the Atlanta rapper T.I., which made it even more popular. The official version of "Yayo", featuring Yo Gotti, was released online on February 3, 2014. This song reached number 50 on Billboards Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. It also hit number 40 on Billboards Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop chart.

On October 28, 2013, it was announced that Yo Gotti had signed Snootie Wild to his Collective Music Group (CMG) label. In December 2013, Snootie Wild also got a record deal with Epic Records. He performed many times with Yo Gotti, including on Gotti's national tour. He also performed at B.B. King's in New York City.

Snootie Wild released the music video for "Yayo" in March 2014. He also performed at the 2014 SXSW Interactive festival. A new remix of "Yayo" was released on May 13, 2014. This remix featured famous rappers like Fabolous, French Montana, Jadakiss, and YG. This remix was part of CMG's first group project called Chapter One, released on May 22, 2014. This project had 16 songs and included many artists. Snootie Wild was featured on several tracks. On September 23, 2014, Snootie Wild released his first EP, Go Mode.

On May 14, 2015, Snootie Wild released a mixtape called Ain't No Stoppin. This mixtape included the song "Rich or Not". In August 2016, he was featured on the song "Believe" by rapper Master P. This song was on Master P's mixtape, The G Mixtape.

Later Life and Legacy

On February 25, 2022, LePreston Porter III was found in Houston. He was taken to the hospital but sadly passed away the next day, at 36 years old. He had four children. His funeral was held in Memphis, Tennessee.
