Kader Japonais, whose real name is Abdel Kader Haiboui, is a famous singer from Algeria. He was born in Algiers on March 11, 1979. He is known for his unique style of music called Raï.
Kader became well-known in the 2000s with his song "Jibou la Brigade." Later, in the 2010s, he became even more popular with hits like "Nti Sbabi" and "Waalach." He sings mostly in Algerian Arabic, but sometimes also in French.
His music mixes Raï with other cool styles like Chaabi and Arabic pop. Kader's songs can be slow and emotional, or fast and perfect for dancing.
Kader studied law at university. However, he found it hard to get a job in that field. So, he started singing to help himself and his family.
Why "Japonais"?
Kader's stage name, "Japonais," means Japanese. He got this nickname because of his eyes. People thought his eyes looked similar to those of Japanese people. Early in his career, Kader decided to use this nickname as part of his official stage name.
