Keith Armstrong (born December 15, 1963) is an American football coach. He has coached for many teams in the National Football League (NFL). From 2019 to 2023, he was the special teams coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Armstrong has more than two decades of experience coaching professional football. He also played college football at Temple University.

Keith Armstrong has had a long and successful career as a football coach. He started coaching at the college level. Later, he moved to the NFL.

Early Coaching Days

Armstrong began his coaching journey in 1987 at Temple University. He then coached at other colleges. These included University of Miami (Florida), University of Akron, Oklahoma State University, and University of Notre Dame.

NFL Coaching Roles

Armstrong joined the NFL in 1994 with the Atlanta Falcons. He coached safeties and the secondary for them. After that, he became a special teams coordinator. This role focuses on plays like kickoffs, punts, and field goals. He held this job for the Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins, and then returned to the Atlanta Falcons.

Super Bowl Appearances

In the 2016 season, Armstrong and the Atlanta Falcons reached Super Bowl LI. They played against the New England Patriots. The Falcons lost a very close game in overtime, 34–28.

In 2019, Armstrong joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He became their special teams coordinator. He reunited with coach Bruce Arians there. Armstrong earned his first Super Bowl title when the Buccaneers won Super Bowl LV. This was a huge achievement in his career.

Personal Life

Keith Armstrong grew up in Levittown, Pennsylvania. He played high school football at Bishop Egan High School. This school is located in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania. Keith is married to Kathleen. They have two daughters named Kaitlin and Kristen.
