Keith Marshall Jr. was born on February 16, 1994. He is an American former professional football player. He played as a running back. Keith played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs. The Washington Redskins picked him in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Early Life and High School Sports
Keith Marshall grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina. He went to Millbrook High School. There, he was a star in both football and track.
Football Talent in High School
As a senior, Keith was 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighed 190 pounds. Experts thought he was one of the best running backs in the country. He decided to play college football for the Georgia Bulldogs.
Keith also helped convince his friend, Todd Gurley, to join him at Georgia. They wanted to be a powerful running duo, like famous players Trent Richardson and Mark Ingram II.
Awards and Speed
Keith was named the North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year in his senior year. He ran for almost 1,900 yards. Recruiters were also impressed that he was the state champion in the 100-meter dash.
His high school coach, Clarence Inscore, said that Keith and Todd were very smart. They knew it would take two great players to succeed in the tough SEC.
Track and Field Achievements
Besides football, Keith was an amazing sprinter. He competed in big track events, like the USA Youth Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He was named the 2011 Gatorade Track & Field Athlete of the Year for North Carolina.
He won the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.44 seconds. He also won the 200-meter dash in 21.54 seconds.
College Football Career
At Georgia, Keith Marshall and Todd Gurley were nicknamed "Gurshall" by fans. They were a very strong team. In their first five games in 2012, they ran for a combined 964 yards. Keith averaged 86 yards per game.
Freshman Success
Keith earned the SEC Freshman of the Week award. He shared it with Todd Gurley for their great play against Tennessee. This was a special award because three players received it at once.
Keith had his best game on September 29, 2012. He ran for 164 yards and scored two touchdowns. One touchdown was 75 yards long, and the other was 72 yards. This was Georgia's best rushing game by one player since 2009.
Injuries and NFL Draft Decision
Keith had a season-ending injury during his second year in college. On November 17, 2015, he announced he would enter the NFL Draft. He decided not to play another year at Georgia.

Professional Football Career
Keith Marshall showed off his speed at the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine. He ran the fastest 40-yard dash with a time of 4.31 seconds. The Washington Redskins picked him in the seventh round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He was the 242nd player chosen overall.
Unfortunately, Keith faced injuries during his professional career. On August 30, 2016, he was placed on injured reserve. This meant he couldn't play that season.
In 2017, during training camp, Keith tore a tendon in his right knee. This injury ended his season. He was released by the team on July 25, 2018.
Personal Life and Family
Keith Marshall used to live with his high school friend and fellow running back, Todd Gurley.
Keith's younger brother, Marcus, also played running back. He played for Georgia Tech and then James Madison University.
Keith's father, Warren Keith Marshall Sr., was also a talented football player. He played for James Madison University from 1982 to 1986. He is the school's all-time leader in rushing yards with 4,168 yards. Warren Marshall Sr. was picked by the Denver Broncos in the 1987 NFL Draft. He is a member of the James Madison Hall of Fame.
