Kenneth David Farragut, Jr. (born December 23, 1928 – died February 16, 2014) was an American football player. He was a center in the National Football League (NFL). Ken Farragut played for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Early Life and High School Football
Ken Farragut was born in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. His family later moved to Moss Point, Mississippi. There, he became a star football player for his high school team.
He played as a center and a linebacker. His coach was Tom Swayze. In 1945, Ken was the team captain. His team had a perfect season and did not lose any games. In 1946, as a senior, he was named an all-state player.
College Football Career
In 1947, Ken followed his coach, Tom Swayze, to the University of Mississippi. Coach Swayze became an assistant coach there. Ken Farragut was one of the first players recruited by head coach Johnny Vaught.
At the University of Mississippi, Ken became the team captain in 1950. After his senior year in 1951, he was chosen to play in the College All-Star Game. This special game took place in Chicago.
Playing in the NFL
The Philadelphia Eagles picked Ken Farragut in the 1951 NFL Draft. He was the 68th player chosen overall. He played as a center for the Eagles from 1951 to 1954.
In 1953, Ken Farragut was selected for the Pro Bowl. This is a special game where the best players from the NFL play against each other.
Achievements and Recognition
Ken Farragut was honored for his football career many times. In 1988, he was added to the Ole Miss Hall of Fame. He was also inducted into the Pennsylvania Hall of Fame in 1992.
In 1992, he received the NFL Alumni Career Achievement Award. This award recognized his success both on and off the field.
Life After Football
Ken Farragut retired from playing football in 1954. He decided to stay in Philadelphia. After his football career, he started a successful roofing company.
His son, David, later took over the company in 1997. Ken Farragut passed away in February 2014. He was 85 years old. He was survived by his wife, Jane, and their three children.
