Lisa Kennedy Montgomery (born September 8, 1972), known simply as Kennedy, is an American TV personality and political commentator. She has worked as a radio host, author, and a VJ (video jockey) for MTV.
Today, Kennedy is a commentator on Fox News Channel. She often hosts shows like Outnumbered and The Five. She also hosts a podcast called Kennedy Saves The World and writes for The Daily Mail. In the 1990s, she was famous for hosting MTV's music show Alternative Nation.

Early Life and Education
Lisa Kennedy Montgomery was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. She grew up in Lake Oswego, Oregon, near Portland. Kennedy and her two brothers were raised by their mother. Her family background includes Romanian and Scottish roots.
She went to Lakeridge High School. Later, she attended Santa Monica College. She then transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) on a scholarship. In 2005, she earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from UCLA.
As a teenager, Kennedy interned as a DJ at KROQ radio in Los Angeles. She was known there by the nickname "the Virgin Kennedy."
Kennedy's Career Journey
Kennedy started her career as a VJ on MTV in 1992. She hosted the popular show Alternative Nation from 1992 to 1997. By 1995, she was so well-known that a TV show, Murphy Brown, even created a character based on her.
Radio and Books
In 1999, Kennedy wrote a book called Hey Ladies! Tales and Tips for Curious Girls. It shared many of her personal experiences. That same year, she moved to Seattle to host a radio show called The Buzz. This show covered news, local topics, and comedy.
In 2001, she co-hosted another radio show, The Future with Ahmet & Kennedy. Later, she co-hosted The Big House.
Game Show Host
From 2002, Kennedy hosted the Game Show Network show Friend or Foe? for two seasons. She also guest-hosted WinTuition as an April Fools prank. In 2003, she hosted Who Wants to Be Governor of California?. This was a TV debate for unusual candidates in the 2003 California election.
TV Appearances
Kennedy appeared as a panelist on VH1's Best Week Ever and MSNBC's Scarborough Country. From 2005 to 2008, she hosted Reality Remix on Fox Reality.
In 2011, she appeared on PitchMen. On this show, she helped look for new inventions to promote.
Fox Business and News
Kennedy joined Fox Business Network in 2012. She co-hosted The Independents, a show about current events and politics. After that show ended, she hosted her own program, Kennedy, from 2015 to 2023.
Her show Kennedy went on a break in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It returned in October 2020. In May 2023, Fox Business announced that Kennedy would end after 8 years.
After her show ended, Kennedy announced that her podcast, Kennedy Saves The World, would release new episodes every weekday. She also continues to be a regular guest and host on Fox News. She has appeared on shows like Outnumbered, The Five, and Gutfeld!. From June 2023 to January 2024, she was a regular host of Fox News Saturday Night.
Political Views
Kennedy is registered as an independent. This means she doesn't belong to a specific political party. She supports same-sex marriage and even officiated a wedding for a fellow Fox contributor. She also supports the idea of making Social Security a private system. She is against the "war on drugs" and too much government regulation.
In 1994, Kennedy described herself as a "strong Republican." At an MTV event for Bill Clinton in 1993, she famously chanted "Nixon now!" She was a fan of Richard Nixon and supported other Republican politicians like Dan Quayle and Bob Dole. She even spoke at the 1996 Republican National Convention.
However, she later changed her views on social issues. She said that "social conservatism was really bringing me down." She realized she was more of a libertarian. Libertarianism is a political philosophy that supports individual liberty and limited government. She was introduced to these ideas by Kurt Loder, who suggested she read a book by Ayn Rand. Personal Life
Kennedy was married to Dave Lee, a former professional snowboarder. They are now divorced and have two daughters.
Before 1995, Kennedy dated Goo Goo Dolls frontman John Rzeznik. The popular song "Name" was written about her.
She has a Romanian flag tattoo on her left ankle. She also has a pink Republican elephant tattooed on her upper left thigh.
In 2012, Kennedy shared that she was diagnosed with celiac disease. This condition means she cannot eat gluten. Because of this, she changed her diet to include more meat. Kennedy is also a triathlete, which means she competes in events that combine swimming, cycling, and running.
