Kennedyville is in the eastern part of Kent County, Maryland. It is about 7 miles (11 km) northeast of Chestertown, Maryland. Chestertown is the main town, or "county seat," for Kent County. Kennedyville is also about 7 miles southwest of another town called Galena, Maryland.
The community is located along Maryland Route 213, which is a main road. Kennedyville covers an area of about 0.52 square miles (1.34 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, but a small part, about 0.01 square miles (0.02 square kilometers), is water. Small streams flow through the area and eventually join Morgan Creek. Morgan Creek then flows into the Chester River.
