Kenny Moore II (born August 23, 1995) is an American professional football player. He plays as a cornerback for the Indianapolis Colts in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the NFL, he played college football at Valdosta State University. He first signed with the New England Patriots in 2017.

Early Life and High School Sports
Kenny Moore II didn't start playing football until his last year of high school. He attended Lowndes High School in Valdosta, Georgia. In 2012, he made 18 tackles, caught two interceptions, and broke up two passes. His team had a great season, winning 9 games and losing only 2. They even made it to the state playoffs. Besides football, Kenny was also active in soccer, basketball, and track.
College Football Journey
Kenny played college football for the Valdosta State Blazers from 2013 to 2016. He started as a cornerback but switched to safety in his final year. In 2013, he played in 10 games and made 12 solo tackles.
In 2014, he played in all 13 games. He had 26 solo tackles, five pass breakups, and two interceptions. The next year, 2015, was even better. He recorded 34 solo tackles, one sack, and three interceptions. Two of his interceptions were returned for touchdowns.
Because of his great performance, he earned several awards in 2015. These included First-team All-Gulf South Conference (GSC) and Second-team All-American honors. In 2016, he continued to shine. He had 45 solo tackles, one sack, and five interceptions. He received more All-American awards that year.
Kenny's 11 career interceptions placed him fifth all-time in his school's history. He studied mass media at Valdosta State. After his college career, he played in a special all-star game called the Tropical Bowl in January 2017.
Professional Football Career
Starting with the Patriots
On May 5, 2017, Kenny Moore II signed a three-year contract with the New England Patriots. He joined them as an undrafted free agent, meaning he wasn't chosen in the NFL Draft. During the team's training camp, he worked hard to earn a spot on the roster. Even though he played well, the Patriots decided to let him go on September 2, 2017.
Joining the Colts
First Season (2017)
Luckily, the very next day, the Indianapolis Colts picked up Kenny. He joined the team as their fifth cornerback. He made his first professional appearance in the Colts' first game of the season. In Week 13, Kenny got his first chance to start a game. He made five tackles against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He continued to start for the rest of the season.
On December 14, 2017, Kenny made his first career interception. He caught a pass from the Broncos' quarterback, Trevor Siemian. He finished his first season with 38 tackles, five pass deflections, and one interception. He played in all 16 games and started five of them.
Making a Mark (2018)
In 2018, Kenny Moore II became a starting cornerback for the Colts. In the first game, he made three tackles, broke up a pass, and got an interception. He missed one game due to a concussion. In Week 11, he had his best game of the season, making ten tackles. He ended the 2018 season with 77 tackles, 11 pass deflections, and three interceptions.
Big Contract and Key Plays (2019)
On June 13, 2019, Kenny signed a big four-year contract with the Colts. This made him one of the highest-paid slot cornerbacks in the league! In Week 9, he got his first interception of the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers. In Week 10, he recovered a fumble that his teammate Shaquille Leonard forced. He also sacked the quarterback in Week 11 and got another interception in Week 12.
First NFL Touchdown (2020)
The 2020 season was another strong one for Kenny. In Week 2, he intercepted a pass from Kirk Cousins. In Week 3, he got his first sack of the season. Then, in Week 8, he made his first NFL touchdown! He intercepted a pass and ran it back 29 yards for the score. In Week 14, he made an amazing one-handed interception. He was even named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his great performance.
Pro Bowl Season (2021)
In 2021, Kenny Moore II started all 17 games for the Colts. He had an incredible season with 101 tackles, 13 passes defended, and four interceptions. He was one of only two defensive backs in the NFL to have over 100 tackles and 10 passes defended that year. Because of his excellent play, Kenny was chosen for his first ever Pro Bowl! This is a special game where the best players from each conference play against each other. He was also nominated for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, which honors players for their work on and off the field.
Injury and Comeback (2022-2023)
Kenny returned as a starting cornerback in 2022. He played in the first 12 games before getting an ankle injury. He missed several weeks and was placed on injured reserve. He finished the season with 65 tackles.
In 2023, Kenny had a fantastic comeback season. In a Week 9 game, he intercepted the quarterback Bryce Young twice! Even more amazing, he returned both interceptions for touchdowns. This made him the first Colts defensive player ever to score two defensive touchdowns in one game. He was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for this incredible performance. He started all 16 games that year, making 93 tackles, three interceptions, and two touchdowns.
Recent Success (2024)
On March 13, 2024, Kenny Moore II signed a new three-year contract extension with the Colts. This shows how important he is to the team. On December 22, 2024, he had another great game, recording two interceptions against the Tennessee Titans to help the Colts win.
