Khalif Ehmad Barnes (born April 21, 1982) is a former professional football player. He played as an offensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). Khalif played college football for the Washington Huskies. He was chosen by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2005 NFL draft. Barnes also played for the Oakland Raiders, New Orleans Saints, and Arizona Cardinals.

Growing Up and High School Sports
Khalif Barnes grew up in Spring Valley, California. He went to Mount Miguel High School. There, he was a star in both football and basketball.
Football Achievements
In his senior year of high school football, Khalif was amazing. He made nine sacks and 120 tackles. He was chosen for the All-League team twice. He also made the All-CIF team two times. The San Diego Union-Tribune newspaper put him on their All-Academic first team. He was even voted the most valuable defensive player in his conference.
Basketball and Academics
Khalif also earned All-Conference honors in basketball. He was a very good student too. He was named a Golden Pyramid Scholar four times. This shows he was excellent in both sports and school.
College Football Career
Barnes played college football at the University of Washington. He was a standout player there. He earned an honor called All-Pac-10. This means he was one of the best players in his college conference. In his last two seasons at Washington, he only allowed two sacks. This shows how strong he was at protecting his team's quarterback.

Jacksonville Jaguars (2005–2008)
The Jacksonville Jaguars picked Khalif in the second round of the 2005 NFL draft. He started 12 games in his first year. This was a big achievement for a rookie offensive lineman. He was one of only six offensive linemen in Jaguars history to start 12 or more games in their first season. During his four years with the Jaguars, he started 57 out of 60 games. He mostly played as a left tackle. This meant he often faced the best defensive players from other teams. He was also very good at helping his team run the ball.
Oakland Raiders (2009–2015)
Khalif signed with the Oakland Raiders in 2009. He played in several games that season. The Raiders re-signed him in 2010. He made the team's main roster as a guard. In the 2010 season, he started 3 of 16 games. In a game against the Kansas City Chiefs, he even caught his first NFL touchdown pass! This happened when he was allowed to be a receiver for one play. In 2011, he became the starting right offensive tackle. He helped the Raiders gain a lot of rushing yards in a win against the Denver Broncos. Barnes signed a new contract with the Raiders in 2014. This allowed him to continue playing for the team.
New Orleans Saints (2016–2017)
In 2016, the New Orleans Saints signed Barnes. He was released and re-signed a few times that year. He also re-signed with the Saints in 2017. He was released again before the 2017 season started.
Arizona Cardinals (2017)
On December 12, 2017, the Arizona Cardinals signed Khalif Barnes. This happened after another player, Jared Veldheer, got injured.
