Kimberly Hart-Simpson was born in Rhyl, Wales. Her father was a drummer from Oldham, England. Her mother is Welsh. Kimberly went to Rhyl High School when she was younger.

When she was 16, Kimberly and her family moved to Oldham. There, she attended Oldham College. From 2006 to 2009, she studied acting. She trained at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts.

Before becoming a professional actress, Kimberly had many different jobs. She was a manager at a McDonald's restaurant. She also worked at a gym called Fitness First. Kimberly was a seamstress, making decorations for stages. She even worked for an architectural company.

In 2017, she appeared in the TV show Hollyoaks. She played a firefighter named Davina. She returned to Hollyoaks in 2020 as a landlord named Beverly.

Later in 2020, Kimberly got a big role. She was cast as Nicky Wheatley in the ITV show Coronation Street. Before this, she had tried out for other roles on Coronation Street. She auditioned for Maddie Heath and Lolly, but didn't get those parts. She decided to tell her agent that she only wanted important roles on Coronation Street. She would take smaller parts on other shows, but for Coronation Street, she wanted a bigger role.
