The King's River (called Abhainn Rí in Irish) is a river in Ireland. It flows through two counties: Tipperary and Kilkenny. This river is a smaller stream that flows into the bigger River Nore. The King's River is about 46.27 kilometres (28.75 mi) long.

Where the River Flows
Starting Point and Journey
The King's River begins in the Slieveardagh Hills. It starts in a place called Graigaman, which is in the area of Buolick. From there, it collects water from the southern part of the Slieveardagh Hills.
The river then flows towards the southeast. It crosses into County Kilkenny. Here, another river called the Munster River joins it. The King's River then flows through the town of Callan.
Path to the Nore River
After Callan, the river continues eastwards. It passes by the historic town of Kells. Finally, just west of Thomastown, the King's River meets and joins the River Nore. The Nore then flows into the Celtic Sea.
Smaller Streams Joining In
Many smaller streams flow into the King's River along its path. Some of these include the Coalbrook and Garranacoll streams near its start. Further along, the River Modeshil and River Munster add their waters. The River Kilbride also joins after the town of Callan. Other streams like Caherlesk, Desart, the River Glory, and Stonyford stream also contribute. The Ennisnag stream is one of the last to join before the King's River flows into the Nore.
Who Looks After the River?
The local governments in charge of the King's River are Tipperary County Council and Kilkenny County Council. They help manage the river and its surroundings.
