Kirby's Pinball Land is an exciting pinball video game. It was released in 1993 for the original Game Boy handheld system. HAL Laboratory developed the game, and Nintendo published it. This game was special for a few reasons. It was the very first spin-off game in the popular Kirby series. It was also the second Kirby game made for the Game Boy. In July 2012, the game became available again. Players could download it on the Nintendo 3DS' Virtual Console.
In this game, the lovable hero Kirby becomes the pinball! You guide him through three unique pinball tables. Each table is themed after a famous Kirby boss. These bosses include Whispy Woods, Kracko, and Poppy Bros.

How to Play Kirby's Pinball Land
Playing Kirby's Pinball Land is similar to a classic pinball machine. You use two flippers to keep Kirby bouncing. He will hit walls, bumpers, and enemies. Each hit helps you earn points. Defeating certain enemies gives you bonus points. You can also find Maxim Tomatoes. These temporarily block the drain, saving Kirby from falling.
Exploring the Pinball Tables
The game has three main pinball tables. These are the Whispy Woods table, the Kracko table, and the Poppy Bros table. Each table has three different floors. Your main goal is to guide Kirby to the very top floor. Once there, you can challenge the table's boss.
Each floor has special features to help Kirby. Some characters might throw Kirby upwards. You might also find a Warp Star.
- If Kirby uses a Warp Star on the bottom floor, he goes to the table selection screen.
- A Warp Star on the middle floor takes him to a fun minigame. Here, you can earn more points and multipliers.
- Using a Warp Star on the top floor leads to a boss battle.
Facing the Bosses
In a boss fight, you need to hit the boss many times. Be careful not to hit the Warp Star at the bottom. If you do, Kirby will return to the top screen. Once you defeat all three main bosses, a final challenge awaits. You will then face off against the tricky King Dedede. After beating King Dedede, you can replay the tables. This lets you try for an even higher score!
Keeping Kirby in Play
What happens if Kirby falls down the drain? He lands on a special springboard. You need to press the A button at the right moment. If your timing is perfect, Kirby will spring back up. A really good jump can send him all the way to the top floor! But be warned: the springboard gets smaller each time you use it. This makes it harder to save Kirby. If Kirby fails to jump back, you lose a life. The game ends when you run out of lives. You can earn extra lives. Look for letters that spell 'Extra' on the table selection screen. These letters appear after you defeat bosses.
